Chapter 296: Genting Highlands

I forgot to SMS my friends before the Genting trip that I will be overseas and not to pop my phone with SMS... So for those who really did pop up with a SMS, rest assured, your SMS had travelled successfully across the causeway, across the customs, and more importantly, all the way up ... high up... until Genting Highlands, in other words, your SMS have travelled miles after miles, gone through a horrendous and tiring journey before reaching me at Malaysia from Singapore.
I apologise as that is considered as an overseas SMS... your phone bill will remind you of it...

And I forgot to tell my sis to help me mousehunt... gosh...

The night before the Genting trip, Jac, Yian and I went over to Binghui's house for sleepover.
Nothing much as we headed for Compasspoint the next morning. At 5 plus...
And reached Compasspoint around the same time.

Really glad the pickup point is close and convenient for bh and me.
As for the rest, they had to go through a tough morning journey to Compasspoint. And that means catching the earliest bus rides, mrt rides, or cabbing.

We were given white cards by the "Five Star Tour Bus" staff, and we filled it in inside the bus. Before we finished filling in, the bus started moving and the lights have changed from white lights to blue lights... This makes everything looks blue... In scientific terms, we call this the "pseudo-colour blindness". Thanks to the blue lights and shaking bus (from travelling), the difficulty of filling in the white card has been raised tremendously (in more exaggerating terms, exponentially).I helped yian to fill his, orelse his white card will be unreadable due to his handwriting (which is already bad normally).
Initially, Yian wrote some particulars wrongly. So I had to ask Teck Chuan (tc) for another white card. I said, "TC, Yian wrote wrongly for his white card, so we need 1 more. Normally, he can cancel but now cannot." (He cancels messily normally which drew anger from our GP tutor.)

So, we travelled across the Singapore Customs. Electronic powered machines make the passing fast and convenient. However, yian's passport is the old kind and he has to rely on the manual one. We then passed Malaysia's custom and got a chop each on our passports.
We then headed back for the bus. This bus is the best I have ever come across. The ability to watch TV/play games, adjust seats, wide space.. just like the advertisement long time ago about "Five star tours". Very nice.
The only concern is that not all of them are in perfect working order. Some earphones don't work, some only have 1 side working, etc.

After a long journey, we finally arrived at Genting Highlands at around 1pm.
We then proceeded to check in.. which took 1 million light years and it is still pending...
In the end, they just gave us a temporary room to hold the 10 of us.
(Btw, this Genting trip is a 17/10 outing which 10 people attended.)
So we camped at the temporary room, playing cards, while waiting for our "real" rooms to be prepared. We waited long hours, calling to check in between, and it takes eternity, before we finally got our finalised rooms at late afternoon.

We didnt do much on the first day. Just ate lunch, ate dinner, played pool and went K.
Pool was ok for me, only that luck seems abit down on me, and bh was very unlucky.
I can sense that bh is a pro in it but his luck is going against him.
Went to sing K after pool. My voice suck alot over the microphone...

We then went to sleep.

NOTE: Some details might be missed out/ vague/wrong, as I cannot remember everything perfectly. One thing to be sure is that we played cards alot during the trip.

Second day.
Ate Mcdonalds for breakfast (I hope I dont remember the fast food restaurant wrongly.) Then, we went to queue up, waiting for the ticket counter to the Theme Park to open.. before purchasing tickets.
The pass/ticket cost(s) RM66 for 1 day, all rides (including both indoor and outdoor theme parks, but excluding cyberworld items)

Our first ride was a ride around something like the "haunted house" and with sharp turns before about-to-bang-into-the-walls-situation.
I also made a breakthrough in my life history as I embarked on the Viking Ship/Pirate Ship.
The ship has been my fear since young... and I finally completed a Viking Ship ride :)
Further breakthroughs are made as I rode the "Flying Coaster" (a ride that turns 360 degrees... something I cant imagine I would ride one day.) and the Roller Coaster.
Also rode in some other rides like bumper boat, bumper car, flying dragon, etc etc.
The only thing that I didnt want to try was the Space Shot... which is a ride that brings you 185 feet above ground... and then it will drop down.. like a lift that is freefalling at 67kmh... which deters me as I don't want my heart to drop out.

Basically, we spent most of the day in the Theme Park (outdoors in morning-afternoon, indoors in night)
Bumper Car was funny as bh, yian and I all ganged up to attack Jac's car.
We just went in one after another or together.

There is also a 4D movie for the indoor ride. It requires wearing of the 3D glasses. The seats will also move during the ride, in order to make the movie more realistic.. quite real I must say.

Third Day. We went down to KL (Kuala Lumpur). Went to Titiwanga station by bus, before changing to take the KL Monorail to Bukit Bintang for shopping.
We went to eat lunch at a store which allow you to choose your own dishes (like the mixed vegetable rice) The only weird thing is that you serve yourself, you choose the amount to take for each dish.. and like how we know how much constitutes one serving...
If we take too much, we get charged higher...
If we take too little, we feel scammed.

We then went round shopping. I went around looking for a shirt for CNY. After much viewing, I bought a shirt which bh recommended me to. And through this, they have learnt that I don't like stripes on my clothing.. and checkered is worse.

Well, I shall skip some/most eating and playing card details as they are difficult to remember and are of high frequency.
We then went to eat at A&W. The staff gave me a root beer that is almost to the brim... the worst thing is that I have to balance it on my tray and go up a flight of stairs.... In the end, my serviette changed colour from white to brown... (from root beer).
We then took photo inside.. which is weird.. if u imagine taking group photo inside a fast food restaurant ...
We then went back to Genting Highlands. How we go back is opposite of how we came.

I then tried on bh's clothing as he said they might look good on me.. so I did and...

Looks good.

We planned to not sleep as it is the last day.. but we failed as we were too tired...

On the last day, we packed and left the hotel at 12 noon. Ate pizza and went to take bus back at 2.10pm. At the resting station of Yong Peng, we ate a Vegetarian meal for 10 pax, as we have 3 vegetarians amongst us. It was quite ok to me.
We then left for Singapore.

And reaching home is of walking distance for bh and me. Sad for the rest who didnt choose to live on the best place on Earth.

And that concludes the Genting Trip. Great time spent with 17/10 :)
Photos are on Facebook if necessary.
