Chapter 197: Pre-Countdown

As everyone knows, tmr will be the day to do a countdown to 2011. There will be large amounts of crowds at celebration venues. I hate crowds, so I'm staying at home most probably. I still remember myself spending last year countdown watching television. I was watching the countdown event at taiwan, while waiting for the fireworks at harmony square. 2 years ago, I was busy killing zombies in maplestory -.- What would I do this year? I dont know, maybe mousehunting.

I am disappointed over the draw between Man U vs Birmingham... I expected 1-0 win to be the worst possible result actually ... I guess thats too much to ask :(

2 days ago, I went to do hmwk with nich khaw, and i forgotten to bring the books i borrowed from him!!! Damn, must i really resort to Fedex Delivery or DHL....

Oh and I am down to GP homework.. Days ago, Darren is unlucky to meet mrs chng who asked him about the GP homework. He actually said he didnt do! LOL. So I guess its gonna be a GP-filled time for me all the way till the end of my homework adventure... or should i say misadventure..

Haiz sch is reopening soon... and this is the A Levels Year. I really hope that the world doesnt end in 2012, which is the end of the mayan calendar, and it is known that some objects in space will collide to earth... If that happens, I would have wasted my time studying for the A Levels...

Chapter 196: Christmas Exchange (Edited Version)

Went to Hougang with my parents before i set off to NEX. I had diarrhoea from yesterday and am still having it. So I ran to the first floor toilet of Hougang Mall from the coffee shop, only to find that its fully occupied. So I went up the escalator to the second level. After finishing business, we went to Challenger. All went right until a lady walked up to me. She said "Hello, 我想要请问你一下..." I felt that something was amiss and gave the curious/shocked look at her. She then added "你是不是买东西的人？“ ?!!?!?!?! I told her no of course. Just how on earth did I look like an employee of Challenger. First, I wasn't wearing the black shirt of challenger... I was wearing WHITE (worlds apart, directly the opposite, on the contrary...) Secondly, I was carrying a bag.. like which employee would do that during working hours... Thirdly, I am name tagless.

Ok, then we went to popular, then i went to the toilet again for you-know-what. And then to Harvey Norman and finally i had to set off for the MRT. For the benefit of those who are weak in acronyms, MRT means Mass Rapid Transit. If u still do not know what that is, google is your best friend.

So I took the MRT and reached serangoon. Now for the dying one million dollar question. WHICH EXIT DO I TAKE!?! Since Darren stated in the SMS that we're meeting next to the bus interchange, with a GIANT winnie a pooh statue. The word "bus interchange" caught my eye and i chose that exit, I was praying i was right all the time...

I ended up outside a block of flats. Familiar sight. Oooohhhh! This is my ex-ex-house! Not much memories cause i was too young then. I looked around, walked around. Saw the shopping mall :) Walked to the main entrance (i think it was the main one..) And i checked my phone. Darren called. He directed me around to where he was. I was still searching for that "GIANT" winnie a pooh which he mentioned. It ended up being relatively small...

When all the rest arrived, we went to take the lift up to 4th floor to the shaw ... (i forgot the next word, is it "theatres" or centre"??). Oh and i was hoping that my stomach will be alright and i will not have the runs... Thankfully it went well. We ended up not watching movie, but we went to the arcade. Jeff bought $5 worth of tokens, while darren, nich khaw and I bought 0. We think arcade is a waste of money LOL. So we watched jeff play.. well, he is working.. so he can afford it! Unlike us LOL. He ended up spending all at the game "rambo" ( a FPS - First Player Shooting Game) Then we went to find the girls who were playing ... some whacking game (I dont remember the name)

Then we went to NTUC, while jeff left for work. Workaholic I must say :)
Nich khaw (nk) and I decided to buy pepsi twist (2 for 1.95) Then we went on the disappearing act :D
While paying, there was this anonymous newspapers on the roller (or whatever u call the black colour thing that roooooooolllllllllllllllllssssssss) And we got charged for that !?!?!?! Like wth. Thankfully nk told the cashier that we didnt own it and it got striked off the receipt. Oh, there was a 5 cents change which... OMG where did it went to? I dont rmb where i put it... ah nvm. Then nk decided to do the paparazzi act. He took out his DSLR camera and took shots of our friends behind their backs! He's got the potential to be a paparazzi, so watch out!

Then we went to eat dinner at a scary timing of 5+ !! I normally consume dinner at around 7... Haiz. So we ate. I ate some baked cheese with chicken, some mushroom rice.. ( the name was long and complicated to the extent that my simple mind could not capture and regurgitate it here in words.) By the way, that place has poor internet reception! I cant mousehunt!!!!

Then we started exchanging presents via draw lots system. Nk got my present, which is the coin bank which I asked my sis to purchase. The present ended up being a "whacko" used to hit darren -.- And... the worse part is yet to be revealed. I got a present from shili.. and she bought a POUCH THAT IS MEANT FOR GIRLS !!!! I was like "what am i going to do with this...." In the end, the person to benefit the most from this is my sister -.- Cause I ended up giving it to her... and I paid her money too (for the coin bank i bought to give nk) ! Well, that doesnt really matter since my sis has already bought me earpieces for my iphone for xmas gift weeks ago. Oh and there were other epic presents too... like Vanessa was trying to make up the $5 requirement by buying toothpastes.... LOL.

Then we went to popular, they were hunting for monopoly deal. We hunted from shop to shop, store to store, up to down, down to up, left to right, right to left, searched the centre, upturn/overturn the whole mall, searched from isetan to 7eleven but to no avail.
To express it in mousehunt terminology:

I sounded the Hunter's Horn, but my efforts were fruitless. A Monopoly Deal Mouse ate a piece of cheese without setting off my trap.

Then we went to zhiling's house. We started playing card games. We played alot of different kinds of it, like peek(i guess thats the spelling), 49, slapjack, indian poker etc etc. They were all adrenaline rushing game... It was very stressful as there is a heavy emphasis for reaction timing... In the peek game, higher level people are supposed to make lower level people talk to them, while the lower level arent supposed to reply or risk upping their levels by one. So silence is the best policy. Despite this, there were urges to speak and ask questions for those unclear of the instructions, so they ended up getting owned. It is actually of advantageous to me cause i seldom speak!!! Which makes things easy for me and not fall into the trap of ppl trying to coerce others to talk!

After taking some photos, we left. And that marks the end of the day, with homework untouched, newspapers unread, soccer watched!

Oh SOCCER! I watched the game, man utd beat sunderland 2-0 at home with 2 goals from Dimitar Berbatov! Woots, top the table 2 points clear! I hope they will go on to seize the EPL trophy. :)

The next big thing to look forward to is New Year. And the thing to look to is FIREWORKS! And yes, fireworks are important, very important to my life, without it i will not exist, i depend on it for my survival :)

P.S. Alot of people owe Medical Certificates for failing to turn up for the event.

Chapter 195: Merry Christmas (Special Edition)

2 days before christmas
I went to a BBQ at East Coast Park. It was held by the company my dad was working for. I ate chicken wing, hot dog, fried rice and ... the list never ends.
Felt like cycling but my mum complained that its too dark. That reminds me of 402's class chalet. On the first night, some of us didnt sleep at all LOL. Jefferson, Daniel Yeap and me went cycling at 3 AM ! Yes, you didnt see wrongly, its THREE AM IN THE MORNING! It was not really dark, thanks to the lamp posts beside the path and occasionally, a few human species are spotted!
Ok, back to the present. I just sat around and looked around, doing almost nothing except mousehunt :)
Went home after that.

And the only thing to spoil the festive mood is something that is hated by majority of the students. (with the exception of crazy people) Homework. Its just sickening that it cant be completed during 2010... Now the chances of me finishing hmwk before then is 0%. I predict my hmwk to be done in 10 days hopefully. Btw chem set A is getting on my nerves... the first freaking redox question is too difficult for my simple mind to comprehend... and the 8th question of reaction kinetics is kind of tough to me too...

Dota version 6.70 is out! It is slightly xmas based! The cheese that roshan dropped is now changed to candycane! And secretshops are now santas!!!! Moreover, roshan has the xmas hat!

Actually, I planned to change my blogskin to a xmas themed one for xmas. While searching for the skin, I didnt like most of them, so in the end, i just leave it as it was.

Chapter 194: Not Holidays

Like what my aunt has said, the dictionary meaning of "holiday" has not changed. So giving out holiday homework should be considered an oxymoron, since holiday contradicts homework. Holiday refers to a period of break from studies, while homework refers to WORK and not break. Therefore, holiday homework defies logic, and thus should not be done as it will only make you illogical.

Well, in actual fact, I can accept holiday homework during the holidays. But what it is given is too much, and there is no room for the "break from study". Considering that I am already doing a piece of homework everyday, I am still struggling to finish up my homework ... The minimum time i will take to finish up all my homework is around 31st Dec, not to forget that that is the best (ideal) situation. This situation is most probably bound towards failure, with a success rate of around 20%, the anomaly of it not hitting 100% is due to the fact that I've no idea how much time does each piece of work require. The amount will vary according to the number of questions, the difficulty of the question, and whether i can solve it or not.

Moreover, next year is a crucial year. There is little or almost no time for a break, it is a year where study takes precedence. I predict that it will be worse than the previous years, as the A Levels should be much tougher than the O Levels. Time flies quite fast indeed.. its just a year break between both GCEs.. And the worse is yet to come. Come next year, I will have something that many people detest. The National Service. It is quite fast... Other people are luckier to get it at a later age as people who went thru 5-year-normal-acad and poly route will get it a year late for each route. Thus, I'll be going in one year earlier than my cousin who is one year older than me :(

Chapter 193: Snow Decimation

The snow at England has successfully decimated lots of EPL fixtures. This is done to the extent that the big clash of Chelsea vs Man U is postponed. This meant no soccer for me to watch again during the weekends :(

Currently, I am learning the song 私奔到月球 by 五月天 and some female singer. It isnt easy.. I have done the first step of learning.. which is to memorise the lyrics of the song LOL. By singing through the song and getting feedback frm frens, i have realised that the song indeed is rather high.. so its easy to go out of tune or breath. Even when i try to sing it on a lower tone, i unknowingly started going high again and have to use 假音 at times.

Mousehunt quite ok for me. I caught the Stocking mouse, Scrooge mouse and Missile Toe mouse, all with loots. Now i'm left with the Winter mouse of the past... And that is before the new mice are released..

Oh, and i managed to finish Set A of bio within 2 days. This progress should be quite good for me... i hope.

Oh and yesterday, I played 2 rounds of pub with Darren, nich khaw, yi an and jiesheng. We won both rounds :) I used Thrall and Lion for the 2 matches.

Chapter 192:

On monday night, I didnt really sleep well as a big match is going to occur at 4am.. It is a big match - Manchester United vs Arsenal. I keep hoping they'll win. I ended up dreaming about the match LOL. The 1st time i dreamt of them drawing 1-1, which is what i dont wish to see... The second time i dreamt of them winning 2-1. In the end, i woke up from my dream and went to the toilet. I looked at the time. 3.53am. I was thinking if i should watch the match LOL. In the end, i aborted that idea and just hoped they win and went to sleep.

When i woke up in the morning, i was nervous, although the match was already over by then.. I picked up my phone, went to the application, clicked on results. Man Utd 1 - 0 Arsenal was what i saw. I was delighted. :)

This meant they went top of the table with a game advantage in hand!! Then after doing my hmwk, i went to watch the highlight in my comp. Nice header by park, unbelievable.. and rooney shouldnt miss that penalty.. he shouldnt follow the footsteps of drogba.

Ok, now to rant about homework. Its just sickening that there are alot of hmwk.. GP is a huge chore... having 15 reading tasks, compre, compo, etc etc. For the 15 reading tasks, i have been hunting my newspapers till my hand turned totally black.

Oh btw, i just realised. Dreams are not reliable and inaccurate.. Like the 2 dreams of the scoreline... totally different from the actual scoreline for man u vs arsenal match.. Just like how I dreamt of my O level results... it ended up otherwise -.-

Chapter 191: Outings

Saturday, my family and i went to tampines mall. At one point, we went to swensens because we have a coupon for complimentary sundae icecream. So we ordered banana split and my parents ate it as i'm too full for any. I was telling my mum that it should be free, but she argued that they still charge service charge and GST. I told her that service charge and GST are 15%. $0 X 15% IS STILL $0!!!! But she didnt believe me and said that they might charge that 15% to the original price. In the end i was right :)

At night, we went to NEX, the new shopping mall located at Serangoon. We passed by the place we once lived, Serangoon.. but couldnt really bring back any memories as i only stayed there for a few years since my date of birth. The more fond memory is the Flag Day my class did during sec 3 times. I still rmb walking all over the area, asking for donations to the Singapore Planned Parenthood Association. Actually, we didnt know what the organisation mentioned did... when ppl asked, we just assume that they are donating to orphans? (as suggested by the word "parenthood" ?? )
I didnt collect alot of money and my teacher asked me why... I just told her "no one likes me." LOL

Monday,
went to pool with jefferson (jeff), kok hwee (kok) and liang xing (lx). Nich khaw (nk) came later to be a spectator of the game LOL.
We then decided to lan together too. And we played lan for 3 hours at only $5, it was sure cheap. We played games like Counter Strike 1.6, DoTA, Counter Strike Source, Left for Dead 2, Call of Duty.

Chapter 190: Cousins' visit

Thurs 9 Dec

After completing all my homework for maths, i had developed great amounts of inertia to continue with the rest of my hmwk.. The reason is simple. I am only interested in maths -.- Others seem very boring. Still, there is no room for procrastination as time is a serious factor, considering that i need some holidays. Then, I came to know about my cousin has no dec hol hmwk... then i recalled that it applies only for pri sch.. and how I wanted that during my sec sch days... and even now...
Still, I have to continue with my homework .. So i reluctantly finished my econs case study.. and left the essay for friday.
With that I am left with GP, Bio and Chem homework.

Okay, so on this day, my cousins came to my house. I was doing my econs homework. My 6 years old? cousin is playing wif toys while my 9 year old cousin wants to use my comp to dota!?!?! Well... I couldn't bear to watch him play anymore as I can easily predict the outcome of his game. I don't know where he get the joy of that game... after getting killed repeatedly and getting 0 kills all the time. Where's the thrill with that result? I would have quitted the game if that was me... Well, that happened to me several years ago when i jus started playing dota. I got killed a few times and i exclaimed "what lousy game is this? I'm not playing this ever again." It was only until my cousin taught me the game that i continue playing dota and slowly learn it with him, and subsequently with my classmates during sec 2. The funniest thing he did was to talk to the computer.. well.. as in he used the chat box and typed words to say to the AI.

After that, my sis initiated to play the Monopoly Deal Game. So the 4 of us played it. It was quite ok to me. Actually, I didnt play that game harshly with them, and did not stoop to underhand or unorthodox methods in that game at all, as i do not wish to terrorise them LOL. Then my sis told me that I am the only one who hasnt win the game before. Thus, I started to go abit more ruthless and i won the game LOL.

Oh, then my dad bought dinner home and I ate a dish i liked. It is called the sweet and sour chicken rice. :) He also bought satays for my family and my relatives. Well, thats the reason why i was deprived of my afternoon computer timing on that day :(

Chapter 189: System of Linear Equations

We are supposed to do self-directed learning for System of Linear Equations. Although self-directed learning is the learning outcome of the 21st century competencies, I think that asking us to do self-directed learning is wrong. Firstly, if we can learn ourselves, whats the point of teachers? Their jobs are to teach us the topic, not simply ask us to do self directed learning.. If thats the case, anyone can be a teacher too :) Nevertheless, this chapter indeed, i must say, is suitable for self-directed learning as it isnt that complex.

So in the end, I took extra time reading the notes about this chapter, learning and understanding it. Then, I moved on to do the tutorials. This chapter is quite straightforward and nice to do.. cause most of the work is done by GC. Actually, this chapter is just like solving simultaneous eqns using matrix method using the GC. Well, this tutorial is probably the only tutorial where i did not lose my cool doing it.

Ok, the previous 2 paragraphs are just a build up to my post. They aren't the main point of this lol. Be glad.

The main point lies in one of the question. The question is about seamstress making shirts. The question is this: Should the company pay the seamstress $5/hour or $5/shirt for making 96 shirts?

The correct answer should be $5/hour as she can finish in 60 hours. BUT in actual fact, if u charge per hour, a person of the right mind will produce the shirt at a slower pace... and in the end, the company will end up paying more LOL.

And... The question didnt say that the company aim to reduce the wages paid LOL.

Chapter 188: Sunday

To start things off, I shall begin with a question for you all.

Question: A can of coke consists of 330ml of coca cola. A man ordered a can of kickapoo, poured it into a cup and finished drinking it. How much kickapoo went in to the man's stomach? (Assuming that is the first time he is drinking kickapoo)






Oh, I wasnt having flu, so i drank the flu medicine.

I ended up tired and slept at my grandparents place. I woke up later to do my maths P&C tutorial and i was stuck at question 5... that question is difficult .. I just cant seem to solve it no matter how hard i tried... Btw, as of press time, Yi an is still helping me with this question. Lets hope he can solve it :)

Then my parents and I left for Orchard AGAIN, to fetch my sis from work AGAIN -.-
And thats how i ended up here, writing this article.

Chapter 187: Saturday

Decided to take a break from hmwk today.. its too draining on me to work on it everyday.

This reminds me of something. I get paid $0 a day to do 6-8 hours of hard labour. On break days, I still need to work occasionally and still no overtime pay. I go to school.

Went to AMK to catch the movie "Bruce Lee, my brother". Went to eat roti prata first before proceeding to catch that movie. At 6pm, my dad came to me after ordering.

Dad: The food will come in around 20 mins.
Me: Huh? 20 mins?
Dad: Ya. 20 mins.
Me: But the time...
Dad: Whats wrong with the time?
Me: Its 6 now, the food will come at 6.20, and our movie is at 6.30.

Luckily, the food came in around 5-10 mins.. My mum complained that the prata was overcooked, claiming that they set the fire to max to hasten the cooking. Then I said: "maybe they know we are rushing for time, thats why they had no choice but to cook faster."

Oh, then we went to the cinema to watch the show. This is the first time I'm wearing my new bought cardigan to shield the coldness there. The show was abit funny, quite boring and quite crap, with only around 2 fighting scenes..
Megamind and Harry Potter are much better movies to watch...

Then went to Orchard again to fetch my sis back from work.

Went home.

Haiz Man Utd game with Blackpool was postponed because of the frozen solid field...
I was thinking why not use fire or flamethrower or etc. to burn the field, so they can defreeze the field. Apparently that was not possible, orelse i would be watching the match like now... So their game got postponed. And Arsenal has overtaken them in the EPL table, although man u still has the one game in hand advantage.

Man U will face off with Arsenal and then Chelsea at following weeks... Very crucial matches indeed to decide the first 3 spots in the EPL table.. (cause Arsenal will face Chelsea soon too..)

Haiz.. so Arsenal is now top the table TEMPORARY. With Man U second, thanks to the draw at Chelsea vs Everton, leaving chelsea third-placed, with one point less and one less game disadvantage.

Chapter 186: Short Update

This chapter just brings you a short update.

As you might have noticed, the playlist on this blog has been screwed up these few days that it refuses to play. Ehhh wait! Aren't you hearing music, you must be wondering. If you still dont, either your internet is lagging or sound is muted/disabled/not on. Yeah, i have fixed the problem. Apparently, there was something screwed up about the ipod skin for the playlist... so i have changed it to a functionable one, the one below.

And yeah, i have finished NYJC Maths Promos paper too. I think i am doing maclurin series tutorial tmr...

Chapter 185: Another Day

Today is yet another day. The second day i start meddling with my homework.
It was indeed very hard for me to start on my homework, considering the large amounts of inertia involved.. and the habit of procrastination.
However, i managed to force myself to work on the homework.

I browsed thru the piles, the stacks, the mountain-high papers. And decided to strike at my favourite subject - Maths. Up till now, I have finished my JJC Maths Promos paper and halfway thru my NYJC Promos paper. And this was when i realised that AJC really has maths papers of pervertic standards. AJC papers are meant for crazy people to do. AJC maths papers are fused with the chiminology that is too much for my tiny weeny mind to withstand. While doing JJC Math Promos, i felt that it was much more straightforward compared to the AJ Maths papers ... which are born to kill.

Those who got A for Maths, including Mr Toh, must have genetically modified their brains before or they are probably functioning on computerised brain.

Ok enough of schoolwork -.-

While i was bathing, i looked at the words on my shampoo. It said "store in dry place" I stunned. Am I living on planet Earth? Isn't shampoo supposed to be placed in the bathroom? And isn't bathroom supposed to be wet? So i am suppose to walk all the way to the storeroom to retrieve my shampoo when i need it, and walk back to the storeroom to place it back every single time i bathe?!?!!? Anyways i noticed it is wet almost all the time. :X

Oh, and man utd freaking lost to west ham 4-0 in carling cup. Like wth? Despite they filed reserves/second-stringers, 4-0 was just too much to take.. considering the fact that West Ham is LAST in the EPL table?!!?
