Chapter 365: Last post of the year

During work on thursday, I was down with diarrhoea.. and it just gets worse... in the end, it's akin to urinating through my butt...  All water coming out -.- And of course, after much diarrhoea-ing (if such a word exists), I got much and much weaker.. Thanks to my friends who took care of me, especially Choo. Terence then bought us drinks from the canteen, I got sports water in an attempt to rehydrate and build back the salts lost by my body. And also thanks to Yaoxiang for his water from his water bottle, although he seems quite afraid of foreign saliva ...

After work, I have to thank (self-proclaimed) Santa Tan, Desmond and Shijie for bringing me home via cab together (in case I faint). We waited awhile before we got a cab. Nevertheless, I reached home at around 6.30pm. I pressed the doorbell and my mum answered to it. My face was extremely pale at that time (according to my mum.) We then left to see the clinic nearby. The wait was rather long, excruciating pain... to my stomach. (or intestine rather.)

The doctor diagnosed me with diarrhoea, fever and urinal tract infection. So, he prescribed me with the relevant medicine and I went home with a 70 dollars bill and much medicine. I have to live with nothing but bread and water. Seems like I am living in extreme poverty. Poor me, poor thing.

There was this rehydration salt which is meant to be mixed with water, it tastes awesome, I wish I can have another cup haha (Touch wood.)

Diarrhoea was bad for me throughout the whole night... maybe because of the 5 chicken wings I ate the day before? Maybe because of the lunch with curry? or the lunch with curry piled up with the chicken wings? Or maybe the antibiotic-induced diarrhoea? Or all of the above? I don't know. It was just bad. I had the runs once every 15 mins (according to my sister...)

So, I had to forgo the antibiotics and hope my urinal tract infection heals by itself.. come on body, come on white blood cells... kill the bacteria by yourself... The antibiotics will kill healthy bacteria in the intestine as well (according to an internet source.), causing diarrhoea since antibiotics cannot recognise good and bad bacteria. They are just born to kill all bacteria.

I was also down with fever as mentioned... but that isn't serious.. just felt cold at times.. and my temp wasn't high, thankfully. The worse one was diarrhoea, which carried out until wee hours before they start to die down... if not my parents were planning to send me to the hospital if I continue my diarrhoea-ing ways.

By the next night, the recovery was almost perfect already. Diarrhoea came in longer-intervals, fever gone, urine no longer feel like it's burning me.
By Saturday, all is fine. I transformed my diarrhoea to constipation.. And I still managed to go for my driving lessons.

Anyways, this is the last post of the year. The next chapter will come next year. Meanwhile, it is countdown 2013 time! See you next year!

Chapter 364: Not yet the end

Initially, I wanted to create a post and entitle it the last episode... signifying the end of the world, and probably the last episode ever on this site. But after much consideration, this option reflects badly on me... and will portray me as an ignorant kid who believes that the world is going to end.. as if akin to some mad scientists running around, screaming around. (no offence to kids though.)

After all, I didn't believe that the world is going to end. The mayans must have made a mistake there... or just that they didn't want to carry on doing their calendar thing. Anyways, since the world didn't end, life carries on. Christmas coming tomorrow...which also coincides with my friend's birthday. So, here I am wishing him a Happy Birthday and Merry Christmas. Happy Birthday honoured Mr. Lim.

Now the thing to look forward to is Jay Chou's 12th album which will probably come around 4th Jan 2013.

After a long-break of leave clearing, I finally returned to work yesterday (on a Sunday) to do some thing which cannot be named for security reasons. Thou that know must die. In order to save you, I will not reveal it.

Got a chance to interact with my juniors. I think that the way they do things need to be improved.. but I shall not elaborate further to avoid security breach.
Went back today too to be part of the skeleton in the skeletal manning.

When I was on leave, I miss working.
When I am working, I miss being on leave.

The ironies of life.

Disappointing to see United being held to a 1-1 draw with Swansea... everything seem to went wrong there... Rooney not on form, referee seem to not want to give Utd the penalty, alot of wasted chances, poor defending. Hope the 4 points lead is enough for them to win the league eventually by mid of next year.

Lastly, wishing all viewers of this site a Happy and Merry Christmas! Have a blast this xmas! You just survived the impending end of the world!

Chapter 363: The 'A' and the 'An'

Glad that Man Utd managed to beat Sunderland 3-1. They shouldn't have conceeded that 1 goal though... and they should have added to their tallies... Anyways, I knew and predicted that City will claim a win against Newcastle, considering Castle's current poor run... Nevertheless, the 6-point gap lead is maintained.

Anyways, there is driving tmr.. time to do the U-turns and probably 3 point turns... before heading to the internal evaluation part... which brings the most daunting crank and S course to me... hope I can handle...

There was once in primary school, when my teacher was teaching my class about the use of "a" and "an". So she drew a line across the board and wrote "a" on one side, and "an" on one side. Everybody is supposed to write any word, in the correct column. For example, if you want to write the word "apple", you have to write it under the column for "an" to signify "an apple" and not "a apple".
So, I decided to be smart (at that time) and wanted to impress with the word "university". Judging by my age, I would have thought that that word belongs to the "an" category since it starts with the letter "u". My teacher saw it and pondered for awhile, asked the class if that is correct... In the end, she thought that it is correct and gave it a tick.

An university?

Best brains by the 8-year old me and my 20-30 years old teacher.

Years later, I discovered that it should be "a university".

Chapter 362: Realisation

After getting numerous relief instructors from driving, I finally learnt how to treasure my own OneTeam instructors. Today, I got back my own OneTeam instructor and I finally realised how good he was... patient, clear and concise in explanation and professional. I hope that I can get back my own instructors for future driving lessons and no more reliefs please.

Driving was good for me today. Cleared the lane changing and right turns section.. Proceeding to U turns next lesson. Feels good to be on leave.. long-term one somemore haha.

After driving, I went to Tampines Mall with my parents. Then, we went to NYP to fetch my sis from her CCA activity. Speaking of which, I wish to thank her for helping me preorder Jay Chou's newest (12th) album, 12 new works. The release date given by Popular is 4th Jan, contrary to online reports of 28th Dec :(

There is a change of MP in my constituency (need I say which?). Unfortunately, I am unable to comment on politics in my post, so whatever I want to say is ...  (Censored)

Hopefully, Man Utd beat Sunderland tomorrow. And I hope City lose to Newcastle.. although that is unlikely considering Newcastle's current form.... Anyways hope that Utd will maintain/extend their lead at the top of the table tomorrow! All the best to them.

My instructor was telling me that entering the Bus lane will warrant a 130 dollars fine. So if you enter the bus lane, exit and enter it again, they will fine you twice, charging u 260 dollars. My suggestion to him was that: If you enter the bus lane, don't come out. So they only charge you once.

What a brilliant plan it was, it has to be.

Chapter 361: Nearing the end

Going on long-term leave soon.. more time to learn driving, which I hope I can do well...
Alot of time to rest, and take a break from work.

Manchester Derby was great, with United winning 3-2 away! And they did it again - breaking unbeatable runs of other teams. Great Feat for the team.
Hopefully they can go on to clinch the EPL title.

Looking forward to Jay Chou 12th album. The pre-order will be available tomorrow (hopefully nothing goes wrong).

I believe its a great way to end the year... with United top of the EPL table, a new Jay Chou album, (hopefully) good progress in driving, and the coming Qualification board and possibly close to promotion (with the pay raise!). Hopefully all goes well, as we head on to the next year*.

*Terms and conditions: provided that the world doesn't end by 21st Dec 2012.

Chapter 360: Degrees

Took MRT with Kenneth and Benjamin and went to Bugis Plus, Filmgarde Complex. Had free breakfast buffet in the morning, before we went downstairs, to hang around at Macdonalds.
We then went to watch our respective movies that we selected. There were 3 movies we can choose from: Hotel Translyvania, Life of Pi, Twilight. I chose to watch the Hotel movie. Tickets for free, popcorn for free and bottle of coke for free!

We then went to eat at some noodles (Ramen) shop afterwards. The shop staff are biased against me as my food was served last among my 5 other friends... We then went to buy Gong Cha, although I didn't buy any... We then decided to play pool BUT we didn't do so as not enough people want to play... and it was raining.. making travelling to the pool place difficult.

So we went home.

---

Woke up at 3.45am on a Wed night (Thurs morning) in an attempt to catch Man Utd vs Cluj match (Champions League)... but Mio just had to fail me by failing to startup twice... It just has to give me the third blow after telling me that I need to subscribe to watch the game -.- What?! I don't know what happened there... so do I have the channel or not? Is it the complementary period has expired or what? Haiz, wasted my time waking up... went back to sleep soon after...
Blessing in disguise in the end as Utd slumped to a 0-1 defeat at Old Trafford...

---

I got driving lesson tomorrow... and I'm worried again... about not being able to do well.. esp for my S and Crank courses... haiz.. When will I grow to like driving lessons...
Just hope to get my license soon...

---

Looking forward to Manchester Derby on Sunday... hopefully Utd can win...
Looking forward to Jay Chou's 12th album coming soon... Hope it will be good.

Chapter 359: Driving again

Driving has become a regular routine for me on Saturdays. I hope I can pass as fast as possible to avoid the diminishing numbers in my bank account. What's more is that I come from a poor family with a humble background, making money very very precious, to the extent we need to save for an umbrella during rainy days.

Driving was ok, went through the S course, crank course and slope. My aunt and cousin came to visit me, and they saw me striking kerbs and driving unsteadily through the narrow courses :X These courses are as difficult as I thought...

What's good to note is that circuit drivers are all nice people, unlike those on the main road..

---

The newspaper said that strikes are legal as long as the employer is given prior (2 weeks) notice of a strike by an employee. So imagine one saying "hello boss, I will be going on strike in 14 days time."
which simply doesn't make any sense, since he/she is most probably gonna eat grass for the rest of the life and replacement are sought out by then.

---

I wanted to wake up at 4am on a Wednesday night (thursday morning) to watch EPL match between Man Utd and West Ham United... I ended up setting my alarm (phone) at 3.55pm.. I forgot that the default setting for my phone alarm is in PM and not in AM -.- Darn.
I ended up waking up at 5.15am... watching he game at 67 mins... and it ended the same way as I started watching it. 1-0 to Man Utd.. a goal from RVP in 33 seconds..

So, they have wasted their remaining time playing. The referee might as well blow the whistle for full time at the 1 minute mark to save resources?

Anyways, 3 points is of utmost importance. Hopeful for a good result tonight against Reading FC... and next week against City...
