Chapter 245: The Great Day

Within around an hr and 45 mins (at press time), the big day is going to arrive...
Let's unveil the big day now!

This significant day is probably the most important day on Earth and Earth will cease to exist if this day disappear...
In this day, someone of significant importance will land on the Earth to ensure that life continues on Earth.. well, that was what happened way back in the year 1993.
The same day this year will see the release of this person as mentioned above!

This day will ensure that the purchase of alcohol, cigarette, driving, M18 movies, etc etc will be legalised (but that does not mean the person will do them even though its legal)

Now its time to put on your thinking caps (both literally and figuratively) and pour in your brain juices and start thinking about who the person is.
Note: Some amounts of stress is good, but too much is bad for health. So manage it well.

Chapter 244: Basketball Frenzy

Let's start rolling with school. Chem re-pre-SPA wasn't as bad as I thought.. since we're repeating what we have done for pre-spa, every result, every observation was kind of expected. So time was not an issue this time.

Today, Bh, Yian, Josh and I played alot of basketball today to train for tmr's match against another class.
Training was intense and we "sparred" with other people as well..
During one of the sparrings, I got injured and so did Josh. Josh was jumping up and reaching to snatch the ball. As my eyes were fixed on the ball, I didnt lose sight of the ball. As a result, I dashed for the ball and collided with him -.- He landed on one of his elbow, thankfully it wasnt really that serious (as in fracture or dislocation). As for me, I landed on my knee on one leg and ankle on the other. The ankle one was nothing, but the flesh peeled out from my knee on the other leg... it was bleeding.

We also practiced shooting and the lay-ups. My shooting (under no pressure) has improved slightly, previously I can only put the ball into the net once every 20 tries. Currently, should be better, but hard to say. When there is pressure, I am back to the 1 in 20 tries statistics ... but lay-ups were terrible for me, I just cant find the net through layups as I am not used to that at all -.-

Last 3 days to the big day.. counting down...

Chapter 243: Pre-Nomination Day

Tomorrow is nomination day, but that's not important, neither is it the focus of this chapter.

I was chatting with my friend, he asked me "do u know what to do as a first aider if u see someone get impaled?"
My answer was "ask him to get bkb."

(bkb is Black King Bar, a dota item that confers magic immunity. In dota, impale is a magical spell that evokes spikes out in a straight line from the ground, damaging and stunning opponents along its path.)

Chapter 242: Monday Report

Glad that Arsenal slipped to a 2-1 defeat by Bolton.
But there's still Chelsea to worry about in the EPL chase...

And for once, my post has nothing to do with schooling activities lol.

Let's start off with after-school time. Bh, yian and me went to NYP to have our lunch today. The question is Macs or Koufu. As both of them are having sore throats, I suggested having Koufu instead of Macs... well the most ironical thing is that they ended up having fries as one of their side dishes -.-
Bh went for Chicken Chop, yian went for fish & chips with nuggets and fries, I went for chicken cutlet with nuggets and fries too. So we ate and ate and poof!

Yian had a stomachache and needed the toilet, but he claims that "he doesn't want to waste time" and so he persevered, ignored the pain, carry on eating. But it didnt last long before he rushed off to the restroom.
When he was back, we're almost finishing our meals, or should I say, bh finished long ago and I was left with a few more mouthfuls. Disaster struck!
Both of them wanted me to learn to eat fish and they shoved a piece of fish onto my plate. I struggled for around quite some time to eat one piece that is mainly made up of crust lol.. damn fail -.- Then I ate the one with the meat (ah fish meat), then they ask me to eat one spoon of 5 small pieces of fish. This was when I struggled more and took around 3-5 mins before picking up the courage from "Courage the Cowardly Dog" and ate it. Thankfully and strangefully (if this word exists, if not, this is my coined word), it didnt really have the fish taste and that spared me from the psychological barrier that will lead to vomiting. It was fine just for now..
Anyways, this might be the first step to master the art of eating fish for me -.-

When the clouds clear, you'll find that I am at Sengkang MRT station. When I was walking to the escalator, I saw 2 young children walking towards the stairs and they wanted to walk up the stairs. However, their mum said "Don't take the stairs, you go up halfway u tired already."
I didnt know how to react to this -.- Seems like laziness is a habit started since young.

And when the clouds come back, you will realise that the ground is trembling, the clouds are clearing, the light is shining from the sky, and you sense a strange phenomenon. It seems like something big is going to happen in 6 more days. Keep your eyes wide and hearts ready to witness the biggest and grandest event of all time!!! It's coming your way. Better get your shields ready and your tranquilisers ready! Now sit back and await that major day.

Oh and I saw a strange sight yesterday. Fret not, no ghost stories.
Yesterday night, my sis and I were walking home after having dinner. When we're about to walk to our block, I noticed 2 people standing in the dark. Nothing strange. When I walked closer, I saw a guy and a girl. I assume they were just chatting in the dark. When I walked even closer, I realised they were just staring at each other, motionless. Ok, this is getting weird, I thought and quickly walked past and away from them. After going up the lift, I turned to my sis and said "eh 刚才那两个人很怪leh, 他们不知道在那里做什么。“ As I was telling this to my sis, I thought that maybe they wanted to get the staring award or the outstanding award. OR MAYBE ITS A FLASHMOB! (ok just kidding)
Then my sis replied "你看不到他们在吵架meh?"
"可是他们都没有讲话， 吵架不是有声音的meh?"
"你知道什么是冷战吗？“
lol ok, for some reason, this sounds funny to me.. but the last line I asked was for fun only, I already realised the cold war LOL. (just bored and wanted to find something to talk about.)

Chapter 241: Good Friday

Woke up early in the morning and set off to my grandparents place to pick them up for lunch. So off we go~~~
My cousin and my dad drove their cars respectively to an eatery at Chinatown. The shop name is 台灣縦貫線美食. It is located directly opposite a building with the big glaring words "Subordinate Courts" (I only had alot of glances on the news on TV, but 1st time on real life.)
So we sat down and started ordering.
I went for 盐苏鸡饭 with my sis and went with the $7 one. To my horror, the plate ended up having alot of funny food (I define funny food as food not to my liking)
I ate the egg, rice, meat and chicken and hmmm....
Then my sis and I had one milo drink each. My sis's milo is diluted to the maximum (but still better than the 7 times dilution for orange juice from my chemistry expt)
It is due to the rapid melting of the ice.. as for mine, the taste is there, the ice are present, nobody's absent.
So, I showed the attributes of a good brother and offered to exchange drinks with my sis.

Then I realised that the owner of the eatery is my cousin's friend.. no wonder he speaks so unusually rude to her LOL
Then my cousin keeps insisting that we watch movie with him at night, including the owner of the eatery. To quote him "I'm telling you all to go, not asking you." (although it sounds rude, it's actually not if u hear it.)
[This part about the movie will be elaborated later on]

Then we set off to offer our prayers to our ancestors for Qing Ming (i think)
Went to "add oil" with $2 note. (a.k.a. 添油)
Then went to offer joss sticks and prayed to my ancestors.
Then we went to my grandparents house.

Dinner time, another cousin of mine, my sis and I went to a nearby KFC to have dinner while the cousin as mentioned above wants to eat later..
So I ate Zinger Burger, whipped potato, fries with cheese and (drank) pepsi.

My cousin drove 2 of my cousins, me and my sis to the chinatown place as mentioned above. He went to fetch his friend. Waited around half an hr inside the car.
Then off we go to Vivo City.

Went to The Soup Spoon (funny if u pronounce it in chinese...) and practice our staring skills. We stared at my cousin and his friend eating there... (as we had KFC just now as mentioned) Then we aborted the mission staring and began chating about everything under the sun (note: We didnt chat about things above the sun)
Walked around, looked around, waitin for time to pass...

Moments before the movie. Went toilet. Came out after awhile and you should be able to guess what happened.. girls take very long in the toilet due to long queues (as always...)
We waited and waited and waited 1 min... 2 mins ... 3 mins ... 4 mins ... 5 mins ... it ended up that they went to an alternate toilet before coming back, thus the long waiting time.
Head off to the Golden Village. Found our seats and sat down.
The movie: 倩女幽魂
And the temperature: freezing cold...
Damn I hate being jacketless in the cinema but oh well...
I had to "hide" my hands under my thighs to prevent the freezing of the hands, while my legs and arms had to endure the blizzard..
Overall, I thought that it was quite a nice show to watch.

Went home after that.

By the way, Man U beat Everton 1-0!!! 7 more points from 4 more games to clinch the EPL Title! But that is one game against Chelsea and one against Arsenal... ahhh.

Chapter 240: Long and tiring day

The day started off with GP tutorial followed by a short break before Chemistry SPA. Chem SPA turned out to be worse than I expected... so hereby I shall give you a meaningful quote "Prepare for the worst, hope for the best."

Chem SPA has 3 freaking Qualitative Analysis experiments.... and we are supposed to finish all those PLUS questions in a freaking 1 hr 15 mins... Obviously, I failed to do so, thus the rant.
Why must there be so many experiments in one practical... I don't get it.
Things are worse than these as most experiments resulted in something that differs from theory... some of them just refuse to wield the supposed results... very defiant chemicals.. (wait till i subdue them with the legendary chemical X)
To add on to my woes, I accidentally burnt my finger a little. :X
As i was panicking (due to severe time constraints), I did not realise that I was holding a test tube that I boiled seconds before... When I first held it, I felt a strange feeling to my hand... its painful.. and then I realised.. it was burning my hand... thankfully, there weren't any burn marks.. just abit of pain that recovered after a few moments.
Oh, and my fingers are stained with iodine (i guess).. which i only manage to get rid of after bathing at night..

To finish the sufferings on a high note with great impact, I forgot to bring goggles to school and my watch too -.-

Maths lecture about complex numbers.

Then came the Bio SPA. Bio SPA is the exact opposite of chem spa.. it was (way) better than i expected. It's relatively easy and fast to do.. everyone can finish way ahead of the stipulated time. Isn't this great? You happy, he happy, she happy, everybody happy.

If I was a pokemon, you will see: "Weakness: Basketball"

Basketball is a sport that i dislike since young and thus I didnt try it, nor did i try to play it at all.. until JC where my classmates are fanatics of that sport...
So JC is the time i start picking up basketball and also the time i start screwing up in it.
To sum up, I suck in basketball.
Everytime when we play basketball, I am seemingly the spectator.. or the free-rider.. there is a suitable phrase in Chinese to describe this: 滥竽充数
I never seem to play it well seriously..
Everytime when we're playing with people from another class, a seemingly balanced team of 4v4 is actually lopsided... they are actually playing 4v3 -.- (inference skills required here.)

I hope they dont blame me for my noobness lol. Anyways, I have more interest in soccer, although I cant play it well too :/

Chapter 239: Mini Edition

It's rather disappointing that Man Utd failed to claim a win over Newcastle ytd night as they're held to a goaless draw... the point gap btw them and Arsenal are now 7 points ( max 9 if they won the Newcastle game...). There are 5 more games to go for the leaders.. and that includes the game against Arsenal and Chelsea... the journey is tough for them.

There is pre-SPA tmr.. 2 of them to be exact... haiz i really dislike practicals... thursday is the worse day of the week i have to suffer through...

During cca, my cca-mates and I were having a lesson on Flash. There was nothing left to learn, but there is still alot of time before cca can end officially... so some of my cca mates went to play the game where u have to type the name of countries in a particular continent or the world... Ryan seems to know all the countries in the world... he needs help... (oops, i think i used the wrong word here. He needs a life instead.)

Qixuan was wanting to play his monopoly deal as there is nothing left to do as mentioned before... but he could not do so as he is afraid that a teacher will catch him. So I asked him to seek permission from the cca teacher. After that I added "later u ask Mr. Steve then he confiscate your cards and go back to the staff room and find teachers to play with him."

Chapter 238: Weekend Review

Yet another delayed weekend review thanks to the bio test on Plant Tissue Culture..

Actually, I don't feel like posting this because of disappointment... but oh well, I got over it: Man U crashed out of the FA Cup 0-1 defeat. Shall not elaborate further..
Hope they make the best out of their game today with Newcastle.

On Saturday, I went out with Jeff and lx to play pool. Lx shocked the both of us by reaching early.. kinda unexpected. He already started the game by himself while waiting for us, and that brings me to one dying question to ask. How can someone play pool alone?!?!?! It's just that damn freaking boring seriously... and playing solo makes u look weird... lol.. ok, so Jeff reached the mrt station at Kovan and we went to buy some food from Old Chang Kee before heading for the pool game.

We started the ball rolling by playing 3-way-fight (or triple threat to call it.) My skills are depreciating like the US currency against that of SGD... (in simple words, deproving) I'm glad this blog isn't marked by my GP tutor or she will rant at me for not putting inverted commas around the word "depreciating" as it is used figuratively. Due to that, I never seem to find the hole many times... Then we headed to 1v1s. I started against Jeff and sadly I could not hold a candle to him -.- Thankfully, his black ball went in the wrong hole and I stole the game from him.
lx then took on Jeff before I took on lx. By sheer luck, I managed to win by 3 balls.
Then a few more games which the results I could not recall..

Today is Monday.
Cats and dogs fell down from the sky, humans below on the Earth moved franctically in a Mendelian fashion (ok, just kidding, I shall stop Bio-ing here.)
Basically, it was raining.
Due to that, there is umbrella galore everywhere around the school.

First period is the civics lesson, where we had to write one paragraph on our personal quality for our SGC (Singapore Graduation Certificate). It was tough as we're writing for ourselves... I always thought PW was difficult... now it has met its real competitior or should i say, nemesis. A saying goes "Self praise is international disgrace." In order for me not to be a disgrace of the nation, the country, the world, and the universe and beyond, it's a difficult task for me..
Nevertheless, I browsed through what my friends had wrote for me the previous week, brainstormed awhile, penning it down lastly..

Maths followed after that, then break, then chem, then econs lecture.

If you're lost, fret not! You're still infront of your computer.
Ok, here we are! Economics lecture. An external speaker (From Economic Development Board) has been hired to speak to us. Poor guy, has to repeat for every lecture groups...
The speaker asked what made iphone so popular? He said that it is because of the technology Steve Jobs came up with. But I beg to differ, my mind tells me its because Steve Jobs is very handsome.
Then he went on to talk about the advantage of gaining monopolistic something something.. Again, the first thought that came to my mind was "to gain monopoly money!"
--sorry, i was a bit bored here--
He also gave us a quote from Warren Buffet. "Price is what you pay, Value is what you get."
which is the only sentence I wrote down on my piece of paper because of its meaningfulness.. not to mean the other parts were not .. but... ah well, forget it.

Went on to bio lecture. Learnt about the geographical isolation where polar bears got lost from their habitats because of glaciers breaking away.. poor polar bears.. maybe they will evolve into some other types of bear or something...

Went on to hand in chem file, had lunch and then bio test. Went home after that.

Chapter 237: The Brotherhood Test

Before getting onto the main topic, let us begin with Champions League. Manchester United claimed a 2-1 win over Chelsea, goals from Hernandez and Park (3-1 aggregate)! This means Man Utd will proceed to the Semi Finals!!! :)
Meanwhile, Barcelona won and will face Real Madrid, who beat Tottenham 1-0. Man Utd will face Schalke who beat Inter Milan 2-1.

Today was a rainy day, a day everybody have been saving for (a rainy day). It's proven, it's worth saving for it.
On a serious note, rainy day serves to impede vision and mobility. It also serves as a good test for brotherhood. When it's raining, going home becomes the obstacle for us to cross, a hurdle for us to jump.
So there is only 1 umbrella and 3 people (me, yian, bh)
This is our strategy:

Yian walks first infront on the left side. Bh walks behind yian, all our valuables are held by him. I walked on the right side, holding the umbrella. Off we go ~

Yian is badly hit by the rain on almost all sides... bh was attacked from the back and his bag.. I am attacked behind and on my right side as well...
All our pants, socks, shoes are soaked with water... If you're wondering, no, hydrolysis didnt occur. Our backs and bags were wet too... I'm faced with a dilemma, to shield yian or bh more from the rain... if i chose to shield yian more, bh will get the rain hit his back more and if i chose to shield bh more, yian will get hit on the front... so its a tough decision and i had to make it in the centre, to shield bh front and yian's back...

This is the test of brotherhood as we chose to shield yian from the rain all the way to take the mrt.. instead of taking bus... see we so brother!
By taking the bus, we would have been less worse hit by the rain and yian will suffer from the full blow of the rain!
In the end, coldness is what we all felt as we entered the cooling MRT carriage.

Thus, all of us have passed the test!

Chapter 236: PW and GP

And here comes part 2 of the PW rant. According to the Intelligence Department, there are cases in my sch where the slackers get A for PW and the hardworking people in the SAME group gets a B for PW... Irony, what a wonderful word created.. applies to reality.. truly..

GP lesson was interesting today. My tutor showed us 3 videos, though the resolution was terrible (due to the screwed up projector in my class). The resolution was terrible to the extent that u can see a shadow speaking and thats about it.
The 1st video was about the girl studying at UCLA, criticising Asians, for speaking too loudly in libraries, hoarding the laundries at the campus, buy 1 week supply of groceries and their family members cooking for them (in other words, she means Asians are dependent). All these, as said by my tutor, made the fallacy of hasty generalisation, which is true.

The 2nd video was pure hilarious. Its a show where someone went around interviewing people regarding current issues, like which religion is the majority in Israel. People answered Islam, and worse still.. Israeli ?!!?!
Questions also include who Bill Clinton is, who is Fidel Castro (someone answered a singer), what is the currency of the UK, etc.

Chapter 235: Monday

Turn to the Straits Times, look at the IN Section pg 13 and u will see Nicholas Lam!!!

Too bad he's only 13... a "miniature" version of me.

Today, we are presented with an ordeal task.. to write about personal qualities of our fellow classmates. The 1st task given to me was very very difficult.. when I saw the name, my first thought was "nothing." I struggled to write one quality anyways after few moments.
One after another, it was hard to think of any personal qualities and write for my classmates... some of them I do not know well, some I just cant find the correct word to describe the person, and some I have no idea what is most suitable.
When I saw the paper with the name "yian", the first quality written there was "non-brother". Kinda obvious who wrote that lol. No, it wasn't me. But what bing hui wrote was true, the truth of the truth. Undeniable piece of fact. It definitely aint a sweeping statement as the statement cannot make the floor clean of dirt.
When yian received the paper of "Jasmine", he said that he wanted to write "initiated the Jasmine Revolution".

Moving on to Bio lecture today. The lecturer was talking about Finches flying to diff islands and their beaks grew differently due to evolution. It just reminds me of giving diff stones/conditions to try to evolve eevee in pokemon...

Chapter 234: Weekend Review

This is the first ever chapter done through my phone and not the computer.

Man U is now leading arsenal by 10 points with 6 games to go!! The title is within sight and reach!!
This is after them beating fulham 2-0 yesterday. Anyways it's like they wasted their time playing the second half...

To start off, PW is a retarded subject created by some retarded person in some retarded year called year 2000. To support this claim, the marking of PW is considered subjective, it varies from person to person. Everyone have different taste and preferences.. To someone, a project can get A, but to another person, it might be a B.

Secondly, whoever says that hard work = good grades?!
Didn't my group and I put in enough effort and hardwork for our PW?
I rmb my group staying at the library doing PW until the library closes... what more is expected? Stay longer? And what if we're locked in? Use the fire extinguisher to break out of the glass window? Then? Climb out of the sch compounds via the fence? Or sleep overnight? (actually this is a good idea, so convenient and probability of getting late for sch the next day is 0.)

Moreover, we have sacrificed sleep for our pw as well... and stared long hours at the comp... I had even sacrificed my visit to my grandparents place...
Once, I even slept at around 12 or 1 and there's sch the next day..

Furthermore, there is this guy who contributed little to his group and he ended up getting an A.. which I seriously doubt he deserves... and there is another guy in the same group who is doing more than the prev guy and got a B.. what the hell is this?! The latter deserves the A more... I shall not name anyone in this case.

In another case, also nameless, during the PW intensive periods at the post-promos period, people in one of the classes can afford to play dota during the PW lesson... As for my class, we did PW... and it ended up that they can get an A and majority of our class had to settle for a B -.- How do we reap what we sow?

And I was thinking, maybe could it be due to my PW tutor being a PE teacher? Cause some classes had the better grades in comparison... if the teacher is the factor.. shouldnt PW grades be given to teachers instead of the students?

Lastly, also the least convincing point LOL, I can never seem to achieve the highest possible score in major exams which results are released before the other subjects... examples are O level MT, A level MT, A level PW...

Nevertheless, my PD tutor advices us to focus on the rest of the subjects as a B for PW would only mean a 1.25 grade point loss. There is still the 60 points from 3H2s to focus on..
During GP lecture, Mr Choo was telling us that for those that didnt do well for PW, there is always still GP!

But its GP... In my opinion, GP is even more difficult to get an A as compared to PW...

I hope this 1.25 loss will not affect my uni admission.. I hope for good rank points in the A levels...

Oh, and this year PW results are kind of weird. AJ had 60% A (30% last year) and some colleges had low %A BUT they had high %A last year... It doesnt really make sense but oh well.. PW doesnt make sense anyways.. (oh well, circular reasoning)

Ok, enough of the rant, its time to get over it and concentrate on the other subjects which still have room for doing well.

Chapter 232: Thursday

Thursday is the longest and boring-est day. It starts the day with GP. My GP tutor is always complaining about yian's handwriting, to the extent that it seems somehow natural already..

Next was chem SPA. I found out that I am the only guy on class to rmb to bring the chemistry file for checking.. and the worse thing is that the teacher didnt come -.-
So I have brought my file for nothing but for physical training purposes only...
So a relief teacher came in, she was my teacher for my OG times... but apparently she had forgotten my name lol. Did Qualitative analysis experiment.

Maths lecture - nothing to mention
Bio SPA - did some expt using microscopic skills.

The good thing was that that is no PE!
Ok, the bad thing is that pw results tmr... I dont wish to think about it anymore... just hope...

Oh one more thing, Man U beat Chelsea 1-0 away!!! during Champions League Quarterfinals first round clash! This will give them an edge ahead of their 2nd round of quarterfinals clash... hopefully they will make it to the semis...

Chapter 231: NAPFA

Once again, here comes the annual NAPFA test. Before that, let me begin by a meaningful sentence/quote "When you are thirsty, plain water just suddenly becomes so nice"

NAPFA!
First station is sadly a sit-up station, which aims at weakening your stomach muscles... It's one of my feared stations... and the bad thing about this is that Situp seem easy to the majority, but i just simply couldn't manage it well enough.
Nevertheless, I braved through it with a C.

The next station is one of the well-known killer station. It goes by the name of STANDING BROAD JUMP. Its a station that is just so unfair. The females can jump a distance that secure them an A, but if u are a guy and u jump that same distance or abit more, u fail... Ok anyways, after getting seriously weakened by the previous situp, I only managed a 222cm, which is a D.

Then came the sit and reach, which i deproved for some unknown reason... normally I can get an A, I only managed a B today.

Next, the most worrying station for me, which is probably the determining factor or limiting factor in my cause for a silver in NAPFA... the pull-ups. I normally can only manage a 3.. but somehow NAPFA is gonna make things difficult for me.. and requires a freaking 4 pullups for a D grade... So I just had to bear with it...
When I first jumped up to the bar, I got a weird feeling going through me that I can't do 4... my hands feel weak and powerless (literally). Nevertheless, I pulled myself up.. 1st pullup. down and up, down and up. 3 pullups. It feels weird cause i was doing at a faster pace in order to conserve strength for the 4th one.. and it proved useful, when i find myself managing to go up the 4th time, chin above the bar. "4" said Mr Chua, and that was definitely a very reassuring four to me. I decided to try to do more in case i do not have enough points for silver.. And I went up for the 5th time, but my chin just could not go above the bar... my hands do not have any more strength to lift me up further... The bar was just at my nose level and thats it. I dropped down. D.

Went down the stairs for shuttle run. This station is semi-scary. Sometimes I fail, sometimes i ace... fluctuations are plenty. I got the same examiner as last year for shuttle run, Mr. Tay. He was the examiner that enabled me to clock 9.9 seconds last year... So, he said "go". I sprinted forward and bent down to grab the bean bag. It somehow feels weird, I have a strange feeling that i was going too slowly.. but i didnt care so much in the midst of the run, and headed back to put the bean bag.. and headed for my 2nd bean bag. I decided to go down to reach for the beanbag at a more accurate time this time and turned after grabbing it. I felt as if I was too slow in the turn.. I was getting real worried this time... Nonetheless, I still sprinted the last stretch, thinking I was too slow... After the run, I got a depressed expression... I thought Mr. Tay would ask me to run again as there are 2 tries in shuttle run. To my surprise, he just wrote down the score and gave it to me. Just when I wanted to ask him if i could do a 2nd try, I looked at my score and saw "10.0" which was already an A grade -.- So much for my worries... pointless.

After all tiresome stations come the station that requires alot and alot and alot and alot of mental strength... To visualise this, the "Alot" will repeat itself until the cows come home.

So we ran.
1st round was relatively ok.
2nd round was beginning to be mental power draining
3rd round requires more perseverance...
4th round renders me half-dead
5th round makes me ask when is this ever gonna end.
6th round require pure mental strength, determination and perseverance (all combined in a package! However, the parts are sold separately.)

I finished with a C, timing 11 mins 32 seconds.

Binghui was complaining about his timing of 10 mins 32 secs.. cause the criteria for an A grade is 10 mins 20 secs... and that is the only station that deterred him from a perfect score in NAPFA. He wanted to get the award where students achieve perfect scores for J1 and J2 years. So he wants to retake.. btw, he has 29 points out of a maximum of 30 already...

Yian's case was sad too. His timing was 12 mins 1 sec, where the C grade requires 12 mins... so he was slower by that 1 second... which he could easily have gotten IF he started on the starting line exactly...
When we were starting the run, there were alot of people infront ... so that should make up for his 1 second loss... and btw, he wants to retake too.

My classmate is complaining about me only mentioning the names of binghui, matthew, yian, etc in my blog , so for this chapter, I shall grant a special guest appearance to Jac. Ok, thank you very much.

Oh, my friend was suggesting that under the NS form, under the column of medical conditions, we should fill in "Allergic to army"
So it would look like this:

I forgot to mention, during chem lecture today, I was listening to the lecture. However, the contents were already taught during Bio, so there was no actual need to pay attention but I still did.. in order to figure out the diff btw the answers i should give in bio and chem..
But, binghui complained by saying "nic, can u stop listening?"
I replied "Yes, I can stop listening to u."

Chapter 230: Weekend Review

Welcome to yet another session of weekend review!

Its always the round thing that gets the ball rolling! Soccer!
EPL this weekend was rather great, though not 100% awesome..
Man U managed to turn the tides after a 2 goal deficit from 2 penalties committed by Evra and Vidic. Wayne Rooney delivered a superb free kick to make it 2-1, then turn the ball across the goalkeeper to level things 2 all. He then struck a penalty thanks to a handball after a pass by Fabio. 3-2. The 3 points are secured when Hernandez slides the ball in after several defenders miss the ball... 4-2 it ended.

Moreover, Arsenal and Chelsea are held to draws! The only bad thing was the Man City managed to thrash Sunderland 5-0...

Today, yian threw me 2 questions over the msn, and I will share it here.

The first question was: "Which table has no legs?"


You must have wondered what did I answer then.
I answered it correctly. Don't ask me why, thats just my first thought to my mind when i was posed with that question. What's yours?

The second question really threw me off guard totally. This is the typical kind of questions that throws people off their chairs. The question was "what has a head, a tail but does not have a body?"


If u thought I had gotten this, then u are wrong. I was stunned as mentioned earlier... (u were clearly not paying attention LOL) I turned back and asked my sis about it.. and the first answer she said was the correct answer... Shocking, isn't it?

NAPFA tmr... I really hope for the best...

Chapter 229: April Fool and Family Day

And so.. one fine day. Yi An decided to play a prank on Bing Hui and he asked me to cooperate with him. And so... in another fine day, which is the April's Fool day, yian told bh that a girl asked about him the day before... the girl asked about private questions like address, likings, etc. yian told him to check with me if he doesnt believe him.. And guess what? Of course i said it did happen as I am "bribed".
Then bh started to feel uneasy and keep asking yian about what happened on the day before..

(If u didnt get it, it was an April's Fool Joke, there was no girl whatsoever asking about bh)

During Maths, we had presentation on the sampling methods.. and supposedly a test on sampling methods too... When we entered the class, the handle holding the screen is titled... so the image shown on the screen is somewhat distorted.. Nevertheless, we carried on the presentations...
The presentation dragged (with intent) all the way till it encompasses the 1 hour period and the test will be postponed to next week... a great plan indeed...

After that was family day booth setup. My class is doing the "slip away". This is a game where there is a table and u are supposed to slide the cup over the table.. And there are targets (with points stated). The place where it lands will determine the points received. Points will be accumulated to receive a prize.
And so we carried the tables, the chairs etc etc. Tried several methods of wrapping the table with plastic/wrapping paper/etc etc.

That roughly marks the end of the April Fool Day. bh didnt know he is suffering from an april fool joke till the next day..

So its FAMILY DAY!
where it refers to AJ Family and not the literal meaning of family :(
so we had to go to sch on a Saturday.
and we had duties to do for class
and I got duties for cca as well...

For CCA, we setup xbox kinect sets.. business wasnt good considering the fact that we are located at the 3rd floor at a remoted area called the block 11.

Basically there is nothing interesting except for a few parts:
Matthew and bh fought at the gladiator game. Everything was well till the last part. Both of them are just fooling around in the last round, they arent really pushing one another, they are just doing "actions" (swimming actions) .. to the extent that the blur expression of the referee then was priceless!

When the match finally ended, they dropped their sticks and did the tecktonik...LOL. that was hilarious indeed.

The other part is that one of the toys that i have contributed for our game stall is actually my gift to my mum during her (birthday or mother's day)... My mum didnt know and gave it to me and i gave it to the class.. When my friend uncovered a note inside.... it says "To: mummy, from: Nicholas Lam" I was stunned at the photo at facebook.... Ahhh.
