Chapter 210: The Green Hornet Movie

Woke up, looked at the clock, it shows 6. It seems impossible as some strange feeling is telling me it is not that early. Something must have gone wrong with that clock. So I opened the door and walked out and took a glance at the living room's clock 10.30am. More like it. Its impossible for me to wake up early by myself as i slept at 3 last night thanks to the FA Cup Match. (Man U beat Southampton 2-1) Half an hr later, my dad woke me up and I did the necessary things (the usual routine).

Then, my sis and I went down to wait for my cousin to fetch us. It was pouring heavily. The rain just doesnt seem to cease, its like an endless flow/supply of water. Water is free!!! Those people who sell water at 3 for $10 would probably go out of business because of that.

So, we boarded the car and the music player in his car was playing Jay Chou songs... then i realised that the Jay Chou Concert the Era album has been released!!! My mum and sis are pooling in to buy it for me. Thanks Mum and Sis :) And we arrived at Marina Square. We ate at Hans. I ordered Chicken chop which costs a whooping 11.80.
My sis and I kindly donated the carrots to my aunt so as to help her improve her eyesight. In return, I received some wedges from her. See, i'm so nice. Ok just joking, its because we dont eat carrots.

The story doesnt end here. My sis and I will continue extending our kindness~~ We even donated the soup to my cousin. The same reason applies here. When we finished eating, shyness deterred me from asking how much was the lunch and thus I didnt pay them back yet. I thought of paying them later.

Went back to the car and went to Cineleisure to catch the movie "THE GREEN HORNET" IN 3D! The show was awesome and funny. Jay's english is still ok to me. I like all the inventions by him in the movie. He made a coffee making machine! (ok this is not the main point, I dont drink coffee). He made a car with alot of facilities (like shooting fire, missiles, bullets, etc) This is exactly a car which i have dreamt of having all the while since my childhood days. Also, it is bulletproof! I often dreamt of having it and using it to fight crimes LOL. He also invented a gas gun that makes the guy faint for 11 days (he reduced it to one hour after Seth Rogen fired it at himself)

It was abit wasted when I am on high tide near the ending minutes of the movie. So, I decided to rush to the washroom. When I return, the show just ended LOL. Then we set off for my grandparents house. There, we watched the Jay Chou The Era Concert. My cousin has already bought the DVDs..

Chapter 209: CCA Carnival

Thurs: Biology Experiment on Gel Electrophoresis is not as bad as i imagined it to be. It ended up being quite successful and relatively easy due to the little amounts of steps we have to do.

Fri: CCA Carnival. The guys left the robot outside the comp lab. When the CCA teacher walks in, he told us that he needed someone to look after it as he is afraid that someone will attempt to steal the robot. So Alvin stood up and went to look after it, while i went to accompany him.

Me: Actually, who would want to steal this robot? I think ppl would rather steal this pink dolphin bottle over here...
Alvin: No, I dont think so. The pink dolphin bottle is already drank by someone. So no one will want it.

Furthermore, our area is remote. Few (or negligible) people are passing by... So the club wanted us to give out pamphlets, which is a nightmare to me (whenever human to human interaction is neccessary)
And it all bears down to the fact that I am shy.

So i forcifully gave out some pamphlets at the lowest possible rate. I had never done this before... In the end, all still went out relatively well, with some help of Qi Xuan. Btw screw those who dont want take my pamphlets, they reject me, causing extreme sadness in me.

When all that is done, we went back to the comp lab. They were testing out the game Orc-ganic, which is a game where u cast spells by forming organic compounds... (this means organic chemistry comes into play)... and therefore, a chem expert or a chem teacher should own this game like no one's business. Playing this game is like studying organic chemistry... and the reactions all this are just damn hard to remember.
You need to click the organic compound and add it to another compound, choose the correct catalyst, choose correct temperature and select the correct mechanism... to cast 1 freaking spell... 5 clicks for 1 stupid spell .. The hell?
This is impossible even with the help of a cheatsheet with all the chem reactions displayed on the table infront of us... hard to search and key in...
Oh, i forgot to intro. This game is developed by SAJC with another organisation. It is a competition... 5v5. THE WORST PART OF THIS GAME IS THAT WHEN ONE PERSON DIES, YOUR WHOLE TEAM LOSES THE ROUND.

Btw, I'm catching the Green Hornet Movie on Sunday with my sis, aunt and cousin. :)

Chapter 208: The Green Hornet

I can never imagine myself to be chasing after stars, running after them, etc. Events like the recent surge of kpop trend doesnt seem to excite me at all. I still prefer my mandopop songs :) Monday 24 Jan must be the historical moment, and only one person deserves such an honour, and that person is none other than my favourite singer Jay Chou.

The Green Hornet Event welcomes Michel Gondry, Seth Rogen and Jay Chou. But how many people actually go there to see Michel Gondry or Seth Rogen!? ;) According to artist's impression, this would be people's reactions: Michel Gondry is coming! HUH WHO? Seth Rogen! Who!? Jay Chou is coming! I'M GOING!

Actually that would be my response as well. I don't care who else goes, as long as Jay is there.

Now lets zoom in to the event in story mode. Tighten your seat belts and here we go!

4.45pm after Malay Lesson, my dad came to fetch me. We went to the Cathay. My dad went to find his colleague and they talked. Later, my dad, his 2 colleagues and I went for dinner at Popeye's. I was rather stressed as i ate the slowest (because I ate 3 pcs chicken!)

Went back to the Event Area. Saw the AETOS,auxillary police, and also people distributing something which could be used to self-fan. That "fan" has the Green Hornet Movie Cover printed on it. (i hope u know what i mean.) I also took photos with my phone of the stage, etc etc. (I will upload them to facebook one day.)

Initially my dad thought that there will be passes (so we can avoid crowding). Sadly, there isnt any... so the entry to the area that is barricaded off, a.k.a. the green carpet area, is dependant on the shirt! Only ppl wearing the crew shirt for the company that is involved in the event are permitted entry. My dad's colleagues are working so they have the shirts and can enter to set up the pyro. Sadly, my dad didnt bring his working shirt!!!! Arghhhh... and my cousin didnt too as he just came from his NS duty.

SOTA (school of the arts) is jus opposite, so students from that sch can be seen watching the event too. And so we await the arrival of the guests.
Random ppl arrived first. Then came Mark Lee, the Mediacorp Artist, who said if we came to see him or Jay Chou? Rhetorical question. LOL.
And then came the directors, etc etc tom dick and harry. When Jay Chou came, the crowd just went mad. Due to massive crowding, I could not take a photo of him walking the green carpet!!!! Argh. When he went on stage, all i could take is a side view of him.... and its damn small... !!!

When he walked down to make his exit, I tried to take a photo of him as i was near the exitway. But all i got was a blurry image... (one that is in motion.)

Oh, i forgot to mention that my cousin had initially told me to buy eggs and throw at jay chou, so that he will rmb me for life and not forget me. I told him that he will hate me for life, and im not gonna make tat bad impression.. Now, to think of it, its still a bad idea. One will never make it alive after that act, the fans will kill you LOL. And furthermore, no way I'll throw egg at my fave singer Jay Chou!

My cousin then brought me along to rush up the escalators to the lounge of the cinema to await Jay Chou LOL. Managed to shoot a video of him walking out! And finally I get to see him at close range and got a quite nice video shoot of him. I'm sweating profusely by then, despite the air conditioning... and my hands are tired from constant raising of hands to take photo/vid using phone. (to add to it, my hands are tired from basketball just now...) In front of me were some girls from China, who were holding blank paper. I guessed that they wanted his signature but failed terribly LOL.

Overall it was a tiring yet exciting night. How nice if I had the pass, i can avoid squeezing with the crowd then.. Anyways, I still feel quite happy about it.

Chapter 207: Weekend Review

My Saturday is lost to the reunion dinner which i ate only rice, chicken and fish ball. LOL. And I am very happy that man u beat birmingham 5-0, even though i was doing hmwk late sat night.

Tomorrow is the day I am looking forward to, when Jay Chou comes to town! Hope to catch some snapshots of him LOL. I'm very excited now, hopes it doesnt affect my sleep as theres school tmr..

School is kinda boring now with less ppl around. I hope that the long CNY break comes faster! and of course, i hope they'll never end.

Chapter 206: The Chemistry Project Presentation

My group started with 5 people. But it has been sadly reduced to 3 due to unforeseen circumstances. And I have already sent the powerpoint to all members. I asked my remaining 2 members about it and both have not seen it yet. So impromptu presentation seems to be the only solution as time is not on our side.

This powerpoint presentation is created by me as I wanted to save the hassle of gathering everyone to do. I have included wonderful animations that flashes for about 5-10 mins but takes 1-2 hrs to produce.

So the presentation turned out quite well. Thankfully the slides were rather self-explanatory and straightforward. So, they could understand and present it properly. Thank goodness.

After the presentation, then i felt sad for feng. He wasted his time doing SERIAL DILUTION FOR 7 TIMES! In case u are wondering about the results of our experiment, i shall share it here. Orange juice needs to be DILUTED SEVEN TIMES before it is safe for drinking (the oral health). Tea and coffee are generally safe for the teeth!
Seriously, 7 times diluted orange juice... might as well go drink plain water.

Oh, and i would also like to thank matt for his efforts put into brainstorming the proposal with me and supplier of the various coffees LOL
And also thanks to my remaining 2 members for making it a success.

And it is about time i can upload the chem research project photos up to facebook. There is no more element of surprise left anyways lol.

Lastly, if u insist of drinking orange juice, pls dilute it 7 times! :)

Chapter 205: The First and Last Civics Lesson with Mr. Sanuse

Jubilation was the word to describe our feelings when it was known that we're gonna have a change in PD Tutor this year. We knew Mr. Sanuse was going to be our PD Tutor and that sense of relief is priceless. However, good things doesnt last long, while the bad things last (like eternity...). The management has decided to take away Mr. Sanuse from his "PD Tutorship" (quoted from him) as they have other things in stall for him.. So we're getting a change in our maths teacher as well... This is because the new maths teacher is going to be our PD tutor. Thankfully, this math teacher is acceptable to us too. So not so much of a disappointment. But it is still rather sad as Mr. Sanuse conducted his first and last civics lesson with us this year...

During Econs lecture, the lecturer was probably trying to get into the Guinness World Records. The lecture was akin to a bullet train (or maybe faster), it was fast paced. We can never seem to finish copying (although they're not really needed as all blanks are already filled in.) We're copying the slides as extra notes, but we cant manage to copy everything... oh well, at least there's the completed lecture notes.

Mrs Lim had fallen sick so Mr Poh took charge of the Bio Lecture today. He was good and funny. He managed to crack jokes without laughing at all, and his expression is still normal, it just looks as if he is teaching normally without any intent on humor. This is something that is very difficult to do and i give him credit for this. This is actually something I am trying to achieve.

Chapter 204: Malaysia Visit

Due to the constant persistence that my sis has shown, she got her way and we are going to Malaysia. People joining us are my cousin and his mum (my aunt).
So one fine Saturday we set off early in the morning. Took the LRT to Sengkang, Purple Line to Serangoon, Circle Line to Bishan, Red Line to Yishun. Took bus AC7. Student cards are not accepted so we need to pay $2.

The Singapore Custom is quite high tech. They can scan ur passport and let u cross. After crossing that, there is another gantry/barrier/whatever u call it. I stopped, not knowing what to do, looked around, stared at the policeman, look around and around and around. Then something caught the sight of my eye. I looked down. It says "Place your thumb here." OH! I placed my thumb, it scans and my name appears and the gate/gantry/barrier/whatever u call it opens! And I was cleared. Hurried back to the bus with my fellow travellers~~

The Malaysia Custom. Not so high tech as SG, they focus more on manpower! Queue was long. They manually required the staff to scan the passport and click on the keyboard and chat with fellow colleagues and then return the passport and u can cross! Then we sorta missed the bus .. I was thinking maybe that is already the interchange... well, it remains a mystery.

So we just shopped at the shopping centre that is found there.

Update: I just searched the web and found out that the interchange is still one stop away... so we rlly missed it :(

Anyways shopped at the CIQ there.

I bought 2 pants and a shirt i think.

And we bought other stuffs as well.

Ate icecream at only around 6-7RM. I ate cookies & cream with double chocolate.

Then we walked around, shopped around.

Then we ate at some shop (i dont know how to describe it and i cant seem to recall the name). The 6 of us were squuuueeeezzziiiinnnng. My aunt with me and my dad on one seat and my mum, sis and cousin on the opposite seat.
The food was quite nice.

Then we went back to Singapore and its the same old thing again. The customs etc etc.

Night activity time!

Went to my grandparents hse with aunt, cousin and sis. Then, sis, cousin and I set off for Orchard road in my cousin's car.
We caught a movie at Cathay Cineleisure with my cousin's friend. We watched the movie 鬼也笑. It was a comedy and ghost film. Definitely, it is hilarious and people were laughing their teeth off. Its a good film to catch in my opinion. Its a pity to miss it. There are 2 parts to the story. To prevent spoilers, I will give only a VERY brief summary. The 1st part is about National Service. The 2nd part is about marriage and borrowing luck from ghosts.

Summary ended.

When we were done. The watch shows around 1:10am. Then my cousin drove my sis and I home. Oh, btw this is the second time my iphone went 100% battery flat. :(
So I charged the phone. My dad set the alarm clock to 4am and he woke me up to switch the charger off LOL. EXTREME! Thats why I'm in CXTREME!

Btw the clothes that I bought in Malaysia are for CNY purposes. And that marks the end of the day. Goodbye!

Chapter 203: AJC Openhouse

Before going into the openhouse. Let us examine some hilarious stuff from what i saw yesterday. It all happened at the lrt station's exit gantry. For simplicity sake, I shall define things first: The gantry on the left is named X. The gantry on the right is named Y.

Let the story begin:
A lady, was on the phone, walked towards gantry Y. As she was talking on the phone, she didnt notice that she actually tapped her card against the gantry that is meant for X! When that happens, the gantry at Y is not closed yet as the previous commuter just passed it a second ago.
So she walked forward gantry Y, and the gantry closed on her. So she was stuck, but was close to the gantry. As i saw that, I told myself something funny is going to happen, so i decided to stop there and not do anything, lest i become a victim.
This instance, another man walked towards gantry Y and tapped his card! So the gantry opened, the woman crossed and the gantry closed on the man.
Self-pawned. I thought.
This time, let me adopt a suitable pet phrase from nich khaw: "best brains". He actually tapped his card to let the woman, who made a mistake, exit. Double mistakes..

When the man tried to tap his card again, it returned error of course, shining the red light. I quickly went to the gantry right to Y to make my exit. He was still struggling continuously. LOL.

Now to the focus of the chapter: openhouse. Its time to open the house, so that air can rush in!

At 10.30, I went to room 1312 and attended a briefing. At 12, I went to LT1 (Lecture Theatre 1) to play the video for the principal's dialogue. But before that, we have to do an intro and ending after the video ends. The shift lasted till 12.40. Then went back to 1312 to do my shift for promoting the robots for the cca. Qi Xuan was a great promoter. He manages to bring in people. He also did alot of unbelievable stuffs. He said that the main selling point of our cca is that we HAVE A LOT OF FREE TIME! AND WE HAVE 100% PROMOTION RATE. LOL. He showed a guy his chem booklet, saying theres alot of hmwk, thus free time is very precious in aj. Thus he shld join cxtreme LOL. He also keeps mentioning about the 1st prize we got for National Junior Robotics Competition (NJRC). In actual fact, it was an entrepreneurial award LOL. (and not really for the robots)

The day was mixed wif several fun filled things too. Like how Ryan mistaken a student for a parent, it was damn embarrassing for him. He actually said "Would your child be interested?" to a sec 4 student.
And Qi Xuan also wanted to ask people to sit on the chair so that he can roll them out, sitting on a rolling chair.
We also played with the balls (that came from the lego set.) We were trying to shoot them into the holes on the table (Dont be mistaken. AJ isnt poor to the extent that they dont replace tables with holes... The holes are intended for wires and they are made intendedly.

Other interesting stuffs to note are that nich khaw came wif his cousin, Benedict, my sister came to the openhouse too and binghui visited me at 1312.

Oh and my 2nd duty is at 3.05-3.40 at the LT1 too. This time the crowd has vanished and the theatre was empty, so we skipped the second session of the video screening. Poor Gary has suffered for around 4 hours watching the same old video of the principal's dialogue over and over again. The dialogue video last 10 mins and is shown every 15 mins interval. (e.g. 1:15, 1:30, 1:45, 2:00, etc)

At the end of the day, the visitors are almost negligible and ppl who looked in our cca is close to 0. So, we played with the balls again and developed a new game called the extreme blaster! Thats a good thing as we have found something we could do on our next cca session :)

Chapter 202: School reopens

The good news is that Mr Sanuse has became our PD tutor. Here comes the first day of school. First, the bell went down... next the music went down, causing us to sing the national anthemn without the music. It was real odd. The first lesson was chemistry. We went to the class, while the rest went to await their re-test results. Somewhere through, people started coming back, they made it. Others who didnt return didnt make it. It was quite tense as I stare at yi an, giving the worried look. And yi an stared back at me, giving the weird face. I stared back and it goes on to a neverending process. The only last glimpse of hope was when we saw binghui (bh) coming in. Then we knew.

3 people from my class didnt make it. 2 are guys. 1 of them will be retained while the other was asked to leave.. This will sadly reduce the strength of the boys in class from 8 to 6... I pronounce this event of misfortune as a tragedy.

We went through the Maths lesson next. And yi an became the new maths rep. Our new teacher was Mr Wee. He's a funny guy which is good for the class.. And he epicly mistaken yi an as a malay (as how i did the first day of class when i met him).

Oh ya Mrs Ong gave us a talk about playing too much games resulting in a smaller front cortex. So we started teasing yi an about his large brain cortex. It was huge to the extent that playing games is insufficient to bring his results down at all. So we encouraged him to play more LOL. Okay, the brain cortex is said to bring about analytical skills.

Ok back to the maths lesson. After the maths lesson, it was break. We went to see the classmate who was retained. He is waiting for his parents before meeting the principal. Haiz, how i wished he could promote. Its really wasting a year of his time.. how sad.

And the guy who left simply messaged "bye bye" to yi an.. and asked which poly is the best -.-

After that, we went to the audi for econs lecture then lt 4 for bio lecture. During bio lecture, we were shown a clip which is shown to tell us to never give up. The downside is that i had already saw this video in my secondary school days... so i knew what was happening next...

After bio, we went to the library. Josh, bh, yian and me sat around, read books, played with phones, etc. We felt that something was missing. We're devoid of something. It just feels odd, weird and strange. We can't imagine to bear this feeling for the rest of the year. Demoralising. How we wish they get to promote instead... Saddening.

We then went for post chinese exam activities. And that activity is malay lesson!
The teacher was ok, maybe because she is only 2 years older lol. Well, bh was overly-enthu. He kept using the word "hantu" (malay word for ghost). He used it for the group name. He used it to complete a sentence (e.g. Selamat Petang hantu)(Malay for Good Evening Ghost) The class was full of laughter thanks to bh LOL.

And that marks the end of the day. Haiz PE tmr, maybe its just gonna be height and weight. But oh well ..

Chapter 201: The Big Day Tomorrow

Monday 10 Jan 2011 marks the big day. First of all, there's the O level results. Good luck to my friends, cousins and viewers (if any and applicable) in the O Level results! Oh and good luck to all xinmin students, please bring the sch back to band 1.

It is also the day where the re-test results are released. Good luck to all my classmates, cca-mates, friends taking it. Good luck in promotion. It'll be at 7.45 at LT4, which means they get to skip abit of chemistry lesson!!!

I had a sad dinner at grandparents hse today.. I ordered sweet and sour chicken rice but i got sweet and sour fish rice instead. And that sucks cause i am not into fish. I will encounter the psychological barrier of vomitting when eating fish... so my mum kindly went back to the stall to exchange for me :) Ahh I think fish is the last thing on Earth I'm gonna try...

And once again sch will reopen for JC students tmr.. I feel very sian... The hmwk has already killed off the holiday mood.. so there lives little time for a real good rest before the journey to the A begins...

The bright side is that sch is dismissing us at quite an early time of 12.45 i think. Which is good news for me.. to slowly adapt back to the schooling mode... (no, i wont get back to the studying mode so soon... wait till it draws near the A)

Chapter 200: Yet another year

School is gonna start after 2 more days. The current timetable is wonderful, with the exclusion of MT and the most-hated-PW. Best of all, PE seems to be an absentee too. Dismissal times are relatively early as compared to J1 year... but I know that would not last long... And after a painful chronic struggle, I have finished conquered all my homework. Its really a bad experience..

The only things to look forward to is (of course not the A levels) the upcoming Chinese New Year and the Ronza Arrival (mousehunt). I dread NAPFA this year too.. there is a strong need to get at least silver in order to serve less weeks on the National Service... And that means 4 pull ups -.- I really doubt i can do that...

And there will be new teachers teaching Maths and Biology ... I really hope to get good teachers who are not fierce lol.

Oh, and the gap for the EPL table is widen thanks to 1-1 draw from Man City and Arsenal, Tottenham losing 1-2 to Everton and Wolves defeat of Chelsea 1-0. All this put Man Utd at an advantageous position to win the league this season :)

Chapter 199:

It was indeed an intensifying match between West Brom and Man Utd. It started when WBA equalised through James Morrison at the 14th minute. And it was intensified when Gary Neville fouled a West Brom player in the penalty box. It should have been a penalty, thankfully it wasnt given. The tension arise again at the 63rd minute, Ferdinand's foul has led to a WBA penalty.. And things got worse when I saw Tomasz Kuszczak and the ball going in opposite directions... Thankfully, it was wide! And the score stays at 1-1. It is still intensifying... At the 75th minute, I was abit relieved when Hernandez headed in the goal, causing Man U to lead 1-2. Tension intensified again when Rooney was limping towards the end and there were 5 added minutes of injury time... The relief came at the final whistle for sure and all 3 points were taken... their 2nd away win of the league..

I have done the research for the GP homework on the Crusades. Now I finally understand what are crusaders. I saw the existence of crusaders inside the game Heroes IV of might and magic... but nvr knew how they came from.. quite insightful research... thanks to the GP homework LOL. While i was researching halfway, there was power failure.... thankfully I spammed saves when doing work.. thus, i had only lost 1 paragraph of words LOL. Now I'm down to Reading Passages, filing for GP, the powerpoint slides for chemistry project and the extra GP hmwk given by mrs chng. I have faith i can finish my hmwk :)

Now I will share a joke I created when talking to nich lim on msn. He was complaining about the noise generated from house renovation upstairs.
Him : They are hacking the walls
Me : Counter them with firewalls.

I was right in both literal and non-literal meanings :)
Literal: If the wall is equipped with fire, who dares to hack it..
Non-literal: Firewalls counter hacking in computers... (though with little success most of the time)

Oh and its saddening that sch is gonna reopen soon... its gonna be a tough year..

Chapter 198: Happy New Year
