Chapter 358: Driving

Passed my FTT with flying colours.. now I'm only left with one obstacle. The traffic police practical test, which will come after some time as I am only at my 8th lesson to date. My 8th lesson went well too, finally cruising through my module 1. I will start module 2 on my 9th lesson next week. Hopefully, I will do well and progress significantly.

Soccer: Man Utd are disappointing in their 0-1 loss to Norwich, and again when they conceded to QPR... luckily, they managed to bag 3 goals back, turning the tides yet again. But hopefully this will not become the norm (although it already is.)

Hmm.. actually there is nothing much for me to talk about.. so goodbye.

Chapter 357: Life at a glance

I've missed out on two events on my previous posts that I wanted to publish initially but clean forgotten about them in the previous post... that explains why I'm astounded by the shortness (yet sweetness) of my previous post/chapter...

Went to watch the movie "Ah boys to Men". The one directed by Jack Neo. The movie was funny and quite nice in my opinion... from what I envision, the second part/sequel to the movie will be better than this one. In my opinion, this movie focuses overly on the introduction part.. and as a result, the main part (NS life: BMT) is underdeveloped in this first part of the movie. Looking forward to the next part of the movie when it is released.

After that, we went to Ancient Civilisation Museum. We were divided into 3 groups, and we were given questions. We have to search the whole museum, turn the whole museum upside down, sunny side up, left side right, right side left, to find the answer... but I was defeated by the mythical dragon...
I finished the first part of the game with ease, finishing quite fast (compared to my peers/the rest)..For the second part, I got a dragon picture and there is nowhere on Earth I can find that dragon in the museum... the other 2 groups share the same sentiments as me as well.... Maybe the dragon is really mythical.. It doesn't exist at all.
Then there was this 3rd part where we are supposed to add colouring to the drawing.. Its not exactly colouring.. but its sort of what Indians will do during Deepavali... I dont know the name of it.. but seems interesting. And that 3rd part is the deciding factor, after we got a tie with another group after the first 2 parts of the game.
We won! We got a torchlight shaped like a thumbdrive thingy as an extra gift, in addition to the candies which everyone gets.

Now, to talk about what I did on Sunday. Went to AMK Hub, and met up with Darren Tan. Zhenglin came shortly after. We then went to buy movie tickets.. after deciding for awhile, we chose the movie (recommended by Darren): Apartment 143. We then went to eat at the food court at AMK Hub. Jefferson then joined us. We then went to watch the horror movie... damn shouldn't have watched it... besides giving me the creeps... the movie wasn't nice too... the plot is uncomprehensible... but nvm I dont want to know anymore...
After that, we went to play pool. My skills improved, thankfully, after hard training. But still got plenty of room for improvements.
We then went to play lan. We played Team Fortress 2, where Jeff and EZL are new to. Played quite well with my favourite Pyro guy... went imba with a medic and heavy ally. Owned the capture the point game with my Sentry Gun as an engineer. :)

Went home after that.

Chapter 356: Transporting

Did my FTT E-trial today and I realised that the BTT and FTT teaches drivers to be very gracious and to be able to tolerate mistakes from other drivers.. but unfortunately, theories shall remain as theories... which is not practiced in the real world.. If they are followed, Singapore will be a very very nice place to drive in. However, reality is always cruel.. Still got 2 more E-trials on Tues and the real deal is set on Wed. I should be able to pass it I hope and think. I had done 7 E-trial papers for FTT and had been able to pass all of them... I have reserved 3 papers for my remaining 2 e-trials sessions, which is too little actually, so I will want to try re-do the papers as a form of revision. I want to perfect my theory since I screwed my practical up :X

Anyways, my next driving lesson will be on next Saturday.. hopefully, I drive like a pro by then.

The kindest people are the ones who do not even sit on the seats at all, bringing joy and kindness to all commuters.

Chapter 355: Ups and Downs

Went for my driving lesson again.. this time its (internal) evaluation for module 1... and its after 5 lessons... screwed it up until I don't wish to elaborate on it... haiz.
One problem I faced is excessive acceleration... that is due to the fact that drivers are usually impatient and like to horn as if they're singing... Due to that fact, I tend to pressurise myself in moving off faster... and that leads to excessive acceleration.. and that causes me to panic more and end up delaying moving off further, or even stalling the car -.- If only Singaporean drivers are more gracious, I would have moved off slowly, yet smoothly... posing no problems to my evaluation..

Anyways, I don't feel like talking about it anymore... I just see how it goes in 2 weeks time.

Went to sing Karaoke with my family at Katong Shopping Mall.. but my sis and I ended singing the most haha. My sis sings more of those English songs that I know no shit about, while I sticked with my favourite chinese songs. Mandopop FTW.
We chose that place as it is cheap, much cheaper than others in Singapore. Quite enjoyable to me, although somehow my voice always sound different in the microphone, don't know for whatever reason.

Anyways, it's good to have Friday break (which I took leave) to wake up late, and learn driving in the afternoon. (though it didn't went too well.)

Now, I am awaiting 1:30am, when I watch Man Utd match in the EPL against Aston Villa. Hope they win and keep top spot in the EPL table.

And finally, Jianhui and Arvind are coming back to work the coming Monday, after their one week leave... which resulted me in extreme boredom. (not that bad actually haha.)

Chapter 354: Driving

Saturdays are mostly burnt out for me due to driving lessons. I don't really have a choice, as weekdays are spent for work, unless on leave... and Sundays are for grandparents house visiting... so I suppose I have to give all outings a miss... so sorry my friends.

Completed 5 lessons to date, still ok so far... but got room for improvements. Much things to focus on when driving since its a manual car... troublesome much... why isn't all cars on Earth made auto? Damn.

Got a different instructor for my driving today, compared to the previous one. Today's one's teaching is more detailed.. and he is arguably the best (though he self-proclaims so as well.)

My instructor decided to allow me to try the road today... and it was a scary experience, driving with qualified drivers... who tend to be more reckless than learner drivers... more impatient and more unforgiving... more horn flying in your direction too... haiz.

Anyways, I took 3 lessons today.. which is horrifyingly taxing on my brain cells... shouldn't try this high risk maneuver ever again... I think 2 should be the max per day...

Just finished watching Man Utd beating Arsenal 2-1, could and should have been more... if not for wasted chances... and would and should have been a  clean sheet if they didn't party around during the dying moments of the game... But nevertheless, it was 3 points, a good result.
