Chapter 349: Life at a glance

Went for NE Cultural Food Tour/Trail. Went to Arab street to eat Nasi Lemak, though I donated my fish to another friend of mine haha. What a philanthropist I am. We then went to a museum (I think) to learn about some cultural thing revolving the Sultan (or something similar.) We were given learning guides, which was a Creative gadget.
We were then exposed to some traditional games such as "chapteh", five stones, marbles, etc.

We then went into our respective groupings for the food tour/trail. We went around the place, searching for food. We ate alot of food... up to 7 meals for the day including breakfast and lunch... Imbalanced. At the last stop, we ate chendol. We then went home respectively.

One fine day, I went for my Basic Driving Theory Test (BTT). Thankfully, I knew how to answer every single question and am confident of my answers. So, I passed it. There were a few people who managed to finish it at lightning speed and still managed a pass... they are unbelievable.. at that point, I was still at question 40 out of 50. In the end, I managed to pass my BTT and I went to grab a form to apply for my Provisional Driving Licence. (PDL) I then pressed for a queue number. It was B034. When waiting, one man approached me.

He had the number of B029, and asked if we could swap as he is still waiting for someone. Readily, I agreed as it is 5 places faster in the queue haha. True enough, my number was called within a minute. I applied for my PDL at 25 dollars, payable by NETS.

I then left the place and called my dad to see if he could fetch me... but he would take quite some time... so I decided to walk around, buy mamee noodles to eat, print out the BTT result slip, browse through the booking dates for FTT E-trial, practical lessons, etc.

Soccer: It was saddening to see Man Utd concede again and again and again... their first half performance was unbelievably atrocious... Their second half performance was fantastic with the introduction of Wayne Rooney.. but they just could not find the 3rd goal... and had to settle for 0 points. The defence needs much improvement in my opinion... real much.

Chapter 348: Weekend Roundup

Saturday: Went out to meet my friends at NEX. Met Jeff at the theatres area, while waiting for Zhenglin to arrive... As the latter was late, we decided to buy the tickets first and so we did. 11 dollars each... So we decided that we each should pay 10, but ZL should pay 13, as a punishment for being late LOL just kidding.

So we watched the movie "Resident Evil". The movie was rather average, not as exciting as I thought it would be...

We then went to eat at food court after that. For once, I made up my mind, to eat something different... and I ended up eating Chicken Teriyaki...

We then headed home respectively as Jeff needs to report to camp early that night.

Today, when I was opening a gate, I grabbed a lizard by accident ... no wonder the gate handle feels soft... yikes, never wanna touch again... zzz. Earlier, I was attacked by a red ant on the seat.. I was trying desperately to avoid it. To get things settled once and for all, I picked up a small tree branch and place it near the red ant. It really climbed onto the branch.. as I expected haha. I then threw the stick away to get rid of the ant. What a brilliant plan proved workable.

Watched soccer on Sunday night. United was lucky to grab a 2-1 victory over Liverpool, at least it excites me to see Utd win haha. Stayed on to watch City's game against Arsenal. I think Arsenal should have won there... wasted. They ended up with a draw only.

Chapter 347: Bottleneck

When you do not see me posting that often, it is not because I am on a vacation trip to some wonderful spectacular tourist attraction in the world. There is a limit to creativity and ideas, in which we name it - Bottleneck. In this case, I've reached the bottleneck of innovation and ideas... in other words, I have nothing much to write about... lack of ideas leading to lack of posts.

For the previous 3 (working) days, I have been taking the bus to work as my dad is on overseas duty, therefore rendering him unable to fetch me to work.. So the sad me has to wake up early in the morning 6.10am to catch the bus... It is tiring, considering the lack of seats in the bus, and somehow I do not belong to the category of people who falls in the priorty reserved seats list - That's why.
Not to mention it is crowded... so, private transport is the right way to go! The first step to making a bright day. So, there is no choice, I have to clench my fists, clench my teeth, and brave through these 3 days.

Now, I'm so glad that my dad is back!!!

Didn't went out this weekend, stayed at home throughout and no-life LOL.

I went back to playing Core Exiles.

Oh, and I am happy that Man Utd managed to put a convincing performance... like finally, with a 4-0 win over Wigan. Yay! And they did it without a few of the better players, a remarkable feat, I must say! Hopefully, they will use that level of performance, or even better to overcome Anfield next week! That'll be great for me!

Well, that's all for now... looks like I am still stuck at my bottleneck...damn.

Chapter 346: Outing 2

Sun: Went to AMK Hub. Jefferson arrived first, and we went to the cinema, deciding on what movie to watch. Zhenglin came soon after. Then, we still could not make up our mind on which movie to watch... EZL initially wanted to watch "Ted" but I just watched that yesterday... so we gave up on that idea.

We then went to fill our stomachs first... and we had to decide over where to eat... Jeff wanted Pepperlunch which I had strong objections for, and then we wanted to eat at Subway, but in the end, we went for the most popular choice - Macdonalds. So we ate at Macs, I ate McChicken burger meal instead of McSpicy meal as the latter is more expensive... I could not afford to spend so much as I come from a humble background. Unlike others who were born with a silver spoon in their mouths, I was born with "not even a wooden spoon" in my mouth. I was born with nothing. Poor me, oh dear.

Gam and Darren Tan then arrived. Darren was still in his smart 4 due to the Army Half Marathon event.

We then went to buy tickets for the movie "Imperfect". We then went to look around some game shop, before catching the movie at 3.15pm.

The movie was not as nice as I expected it to be... maybe my expectations of that show is too high, I don't know...

I then proceeded to my grandparents' house to consume my dinner there, and get a ride home from my dad. That marks the end of my Sunday.

Chapter 345: Outing

Sat - Went to Plaza Singapura to meet Darren Leong and Shili. First, we went to eat lunch at Manhattan Fish Market. Darren has come offer coupons, so we ended up ordering 4 dishes, plus fried mushroom. As we only have 3 people, we have difficulty finishing the fries in the end of the day... So many poor potatoes are wasted as a result of Darren's plan. And we ended up very full...

We then went to shop at Daiso, while I bought absolutely nothing as I don't require anything.. and I need to save for my outing tmr as well... We then went to watch the movie "Ted" which is M18 rated. It is an entertaining and funny movie I would say. Eating popcorn and the drink made us even fuller...

We then went to shop around, look around, look look see see, here there everywhere wherever etc. We then ate dinner at ... I can't remember the place name, but the place is susposedly famous for noodles... so I ordered the Egg and Tomato Noodles. Quite ok in my opinion.

We then went home through MRT after that at around 9pm I think.

Basically, that roughly sums up my whole Saturday.. coming up next will be tmr's outing (Sunday).

Chapter 344: BTT E-Trial

One fine day, I went to camp as usual. My dad then fetched me at 5.30pm. On the way out of the expressway (also known as TPE), there is a traffic accident ahead and all vehicles travelling along are in totall standstill. So, we had to wait seconds after seconds, minutes after minutes, hoping that it will not last any longer... In the end, we managed to get through and went home.

We then got changed and set out to eat dinner at a coffee shop near the Ubi Driving Center. When time is almost up, I went to Ubi driving center to top up my store value account first. I then went to level 3 classroom 6 to take the BTT E-trial.

Inside, there are alot of different kind of people from all walks of life. There is one middle-aged lady who likes to smile to herself (for whatever reason), and tries to shift around seats without getting caught.. But in the end, she didn't get caught and she moved back to the original seat on her own accord.. weird -.-

So, the e-trial started. The person to my left was doing it in Chinese, while the person to my right was doing it in Tamil. The screen is freaking irritating... not really responsive and have alignment issues at times to my touch... When I am struggling to scroll down the page, I looked to the screen of the guy to my left. I saw a river of red in his screen... All of the words are similar, and its just one single word - Incorrect. Omg, did he even study before attempting this?

Then the guy to my right was doing fine, and he seemed well-prepared and serious in it. The plus point about him is that he got a pen which solves the alignment problem, meaning he has no difficulty in handling the touch-screen computer, while I, the poor soul, struggles as if there is no tomorrow.
Then, he turned to me and said "you need to use a pen." I said ok, then realised that I don't have any pens with me -.- So, I continued struggling. It lasts for not long, before the guy lend me his spare pen. Nice guy. Then, all was smooth-sailing.

I finished 3 papers during that period, in which I passed all of them.

I rushed down to visit the toilet as my bladder is bursting...

I then rushed back up for the second session, which lies on the same day. This time, the computer is responsive to my touch and the alignment is perfect! Great! But this time, there are people doing internal evaluation, they are the ones who failed the test before, and need to show the invigilator their marks before closing the page. He asked them to co-operate with him. As usual, there are always jokers in the world who do not follow instructions/co-operate.

I did another 3 more papers, passing all again. Some questions are not really inside the book, but somehow I am expected to know them... oh well... I hope I get a nice easy paper during my BTT later this month.

Chapter 343: Unluckiness Part 2

I was wrong to say that the unluckiness meter has reached its maximum... it has not... Things become much worse...

Firstly, I didn't get half day on Friday.. which is disappointing, as I truly thought and hoped that it will be... until I believe in it and keep telling myself that that is true.
My cough and runny nose became worse... Now, I can't tell whether I am suffering from the drowsiness effects of the medicine or that I am falling sick soon... In any case, I had taken Panadol to prevent fever from striking me yet... My temperature is at 37.2 degree celsius. Still in the safe-zone, I mean fever-free-zone. Anyways, this is the longest duration I spent on sleeping during weekends... haiz.

So, I had to turn down an outing to play pool in noon today... only to get myself more rest at home.

What happened on Friday was much worse. I am supposed to go catch a movie with Jianhui, Chih Siong and Kenneth. During the bus trip home with Arvind and Kenneth, JH called me. After speaking for awhile, he passed the phone to CS to continue speaking to me. I heard them say that the movie we are watching only have the front few seats left... and that they have booked the tickets already. As Kenneth is with me, they entrusted me to convey the message to him...

This is where disaster and catastrophe struck.

So, I went home to rest awhile, ate instant noodles before setting off to meet them at Dhoby Ghaut MRT station. Well, it turned out that only Kenneth and I went there... Then, I discovered that I had relayed the message wrongly... somehow, I missed out on hearing the words "next week" and "off".
CS was trying to tell me that the movie was off, and they booked the tickets for next week....

zzz something is wrong with my hearing or just that I am too tired at that point in time... Now, I feel bad towards Kenneth.. haiz. He made a wasted trip there... and so did I. I need some courses on effective hearing now, any lobangs?

So, both of us made the trip there and back immediately...

Although JH apologised for the miscommunication and offered to treat us ice-cream, I believe that this is purely my fault for ineffective hearing skills. I don't blame him at all as it is not his fault.

Now, I wonder how to face Kenneth :X Next week, I must send an SMS confirmation to confirm with them what I heard over the phone was 100% accurate or not. That is why SMS is a great invention, as compared to phone calls.

Now, I have to try and battle myself from falling to the side of fever. Wish me luck in this arduous fight! Victory is in my hands I hope and truly believe.

I am still waiting for the rainbow that comes after the rain...
